Rebels Beat Hitmen 4-1

Last time I seen the Hitmen play the Rebels was in 2016 at the Saddledome. Was the year the Rebels hosted the memorial cup. I remember the Hitmen fans chanting “Kootenay Sucks” even though the Hitmen were playing the Rebels. I wonder if they still do that in Calgary? Anyway the Rebels were suppose to have a good team that year, but this team looks way better. Around 10 minutes in a delay pass by Jace Isley to Kai Uchacz who a made a beautiful goal look effortless as he snuck the puck between the legs of Ethan Bueneventura. The Rebels weren’t finished there to end the scoring in the first period as Frantisek Formenak rushed up the right side of the ice being way too fast for Galloway to even bother with roofing it upstairs. With under a minute remaining in the first former Rebel Trey Patterson decided to help his old team out by getting a slashing penalty and sending them on the Power Play. In which they scored. A nice goal. Kai Uchacz for his second of the game from Grubbe and Sedoff. Too bad you couldn’t add a third assist there it would for sure go to Patterson. You also had to admire the nice way the Hitmen defencemen screened Bueneventura’s vision for Uchacz with only 3 seconds left in the period. That made it 3-1. I also want to add the Hitmen are not terrible as it would appear by reading this. They out shot the Rebels 14-10 in the first period. Rhett Stoesser played awesome in net. With 2 huge memorable saves one on a Patterson point shot and one on Hoilett that I thought was for sure in. Also Bueneventura was no piece of swiss cheese out there the goals he let in Martin Brodeur himself couldn’t of stopped. The second period was scoreless, but the Hitmen scored a minute into the third. David Adaszynski beat Stoesser with assists going to Oliver Tulk and Blake Heward. Then half way through the third period breaking out of the zone, like clockwork, Fromanek to Lind to Uchacz to score the hat trick with his 29th goal of the season. That also puts him in first for goals in the league. Hands down Uchacz was the most noticeable player on the ice.
