The Rebels needed one more win against the Edmonton Oil Kings Friday night to complete the season series sweep. They did that, its the Oil Kings🤡🤪Unless a bunch of teams decide to fold before the playoffs and the league changes rules, the Oil Kings will not be in the playoff to see either. So better luck next season. On the bright side the Oil Kings will almost certainly be drafting 1st overall in next years bantam draft.

Jace Isley opened up the scoring for the Rebels on a rebound from a Craig Armstrong shot at 12:52 of the first period.

At 3:44 of the second period 20 year old new comer Loick Daigle scored his first goal as an Oil King after coming over from the QMJHL’s Shawinigan Cataractes. Now I try to keep everything as accurate as I can on this site and do not like to start fake rumors but I am pretty sure that is the grandson of former 1st overall superstar Alexander Daigle. That was from the early 90’s. How did Daigle’s NHL career turn out? I can’t remember. The guy who was drafted second overall that year had a great career so I assume Daigle did too. The irony of this too is it says Loick Daigle came over from Shawinigan. Which he did. He only played one game there though. He played the previous three seasons with the Victoriaville Tigres. The same team that Alexandre Daigle played for.😲😲😲

With 1:34 remaining in the second period Jhett Larson scored a nice goal coming down on a two on one with Ollie Josephson while shorthanded. Then three minutes later while on the Power Play Kai Uchacz shot the puck on net and Kalan Lind was there to bang home his 11th goal of the season. Jace Weir added the empty net from Grubbe and Isley to make the final score 4-1.
