The Bulldogs took on the Calgary Canucks for the fourth time this season on Saturday night in Blackfalds. Jason Siedem opened up the scoring for the Bulldogs on the Power Play at 9:23 assists to Jayden Joly and Brett Meerman. At the end of the first period shots were 16-4 Blackfalds. The Bulldogs scored on the Power Play again at 7:11 of the second period to make it 2-1 Jayden Joly scored from Jason Siedem and Tanner Willick. Kasey Hiemstra got ejected for hitting from behind part way through the second period. You could almost see it coming too, he looked like a man on a mission. The Canucks Cale Sanders scored on the Power Play on a 4 on 1 rush. With under 30 seconds left in the second Tyler Wallace scored from Meerman and Alexey Trischuk. It was strange as play stopped and most in the stands had no clue what was going on. Most were wondering if the refs knew what was going on also. Turns out Meerman got a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. (Too bad they missed him get high sticked in the mouth) Nothing appeared to be unsportsmanlike from the stands odds are it was probably like the cop giving a jaywalking ticket, job justification. At 9:24 of the third Jack Plandowski made it 4-1 assist by David Brandes. Plandowski got a nice breakaway had lots of time and beat Borsos to get his 6th of the season. Alexey Trischuk scored his first of the season and it was an awesome one shorthanded. Assist to Charlie Zolin. Trischuk was due and it was nice to see it scored in an awesome way. Things started to get rough at the end. Bulldogs Jake Geraci got kicked out for high sticking with about 2 minutes remaining in the game. The last hope of any form of entertainment from the Calgary Canucks was scratched when the ref ejected the two biggest meat heads on the Canucks Cale Sanders and Matt Corbet. I don’t know what they did exactly. Maybe the ref was just looking in the same crystal ball most of us were and it read those 2 would of done something stupid. 🤔 Other Notes Bulldogs next game is at home Friday February against the Canmore Eagles. Its super hero night. Attendance at the Eagle Builder Centre was 555. Bulldogs outshot the Canucks 40-35 Tonight’s Three Stars were 1) Charlie Zolin 2) Jayden Joly 3) Alexey Trischuk
