Not one. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈThe Blades even took 7 minutes to register a shot. The Blades Egor Sidorov and Brandon Lisowsky both put up two goals and three points as Saskatoon beat the Rebels 5-2 on Wednesday night during dog night.

18 year old Belarusian Egor Sidorov opened up the scoring for the Blades on the Power Play. Assists on that goal to Aidan De La Gorgendiere and Vancouver native Trevor Wong.

Egor Sidorov scored again just 1:21 into the 2nd period getting his 35th goal of the season. This time assists went to Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick Brandon Lisowsky and Tanner Molendyk. Making it 2-0 for the Blades. Carrot River, SK native Jayden Wiens scored his 14th goal of the season on the Power Play to make it 3-0 Blades. Assists on that goal to Sidorov and Wong.

Craig Armstrong scored his 8th goal of the season at 16:49 of the second period. Assist on that goal to Dwayne Jean Jr. who recovered a Blades turn over at the blue line. That goal finally put the Rebels on the board. At 17:09 of the second 18 year old Port Coquitlam, BC native Brandon Lisowsky scored his 30th goal of the season assisted by Blake Gustafson. 4-1 Blades.

On the Power Play at 3:55 of the third period Brandon Lisowsky scored his second goal of the game and 31st of the season to make it 5-1 Blades. Assists on the goal to De La Gorgendiere and Wong. Frantisek Formanek buried his 11th goal of the season top corner from Ben King at the 9:00 minute mark of the third period but it was well over and done before they scored that.

The Saskatoon Blades emerged victorious with a 5-2 win over the Red Deer Rebels at SaskTel Centre on Wednesday. Egor Sidorov and Brandon Lisowsky each scored two goals and contributed three points to the Blades’ victory, with Saskatoon dominating the game and allowing only ten shots by the visitors. The match was played in front of a Pucks and Paws 2 audience, which added to the festive atmosphere. The Blades’ powerplay was particularly impressive, successfully converting three of their nine attempts, and maintaining their excellent form with 14 goals in their last eight games. The game had a playoff-like intensity, with seven fighting majors and 137 penalty minutes in total. The Blades won the season-series 3-1 and are now third in the Eastern Conference with 83 points and a 39-13-4-1 record. In their last seven games, they have a record of 6-0-1-0. Although both teams failed to record a shot on goal for almost seven minutes into the first period, Sidorov scored the first goal for the Blades during their first powerplay of the night, adding to his team-leading 15 powerplay goals. The Blades went into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead after recording 13 shots and keeping the Rebels from registering a shot. Sidorov extended the lead to 2-0 with his second goal of the game 1:21 into the second period, thanks to an excellent backhand pass from Lisowsky during a 2-on-1 rush. The Belarusian forward has 35 goals this season and leads his team with 15 powerplay goals. Jayden Wiens scored the third goal for the Blades during another powerplay, with Sidorov assisting, making it a 3-0 game. Craig Armstrong scored the first goal for the Rebels, reducing the deficit to two, but the Blades quickly responded with two more goals from Lisowsky, bringing his tally to 31 goals this season. Frantisek Formanak scored the second goal for the Rebels late in the third period, but it was too little too late as the Blades emerged victorious.
