The Blackfalds Bulldogs won their first ever playoff game in franchise history Friday night beating the Calgary Canucks 5-2. The Bulldogs won the season series against the Canucks 5-1.
Canucks opened up the scoring when captain Justin Barker scored on the Powerplay from Bowden Singleton at 3:41 of the first period. Then just over 3 minutes later at 6:58 the Canucks scored again while on the Powerplay. Chicago native Daniel Rozsival scored for the Canucks to make it a 2-0 game from Rylan Jockims and Caden Stienke. The Bulldogs got on the board at 10:21 of the first period when Kasey Hiemstra made it 2-1. Assists on his goal to Kody Willick and Jack Plandowski.
Just 11 seconds into the second period the Bulldogs got an amazing goal. I felt a tad bad for Canucks goalie Max Prazma who made a highlight reel save of the year only to have Layne Loomer tap it in to ruin it and tie it up for the Bulldogs π€ͺ. The assist on Loomers short handed goal was to Tyler Wallace. Then at 12:22 Brendan Ross tied the game up tipping in a pass from David Brandes (other assist to Jayden Joly) on the Powerplay to make it 3-2 Bulldogs lead.
David Brandes scored a beautiful top shelf goal at 13:56 of the third period assists to Jason Siedem and Layne Loomer. Then at 16:08 Tyler Wallace scored shorthanded while on a 2 on 1 with Jayden Joly to make it 5-2.
