Newly acquired 20 year old Carson Latimer made it 3-2 for the Rebels at 17:41 of the third period. From veterans Jace Weir and Frantisek Formanek. Latimer was himself an Oil King back in 2021. Latimer also played with the Prince Albert Raiders and Winnipeg Ice.

Overager Aiden Litke scored on the empty net with 17 seconds remaining in the game to make it a 4-2 final. Litke also played for the OCN Blizzard of the MJHL in 2020.

Rebels outshot the Oil Kings 38-33.

Abbotsford native Kolby Hay made 36 saves on 38 shots for the win. For the Rebels Kyle Kelsey made 29 saves on 32 shots.

Attendance in Red Deer was 4625.

Craig Armstrong was placed on waivers and went unclaimed. He was caught up in the 20 year old numbers game which is unfortunate, he was a great player to watch. I could still see another Dub team picking him up. If not he should consider the AJHL. Perhaps Blackfalds🤔

Next game Saturday September 23rd against the Oil Kings in Edmonton
