The Bulldogs have already faced the Pontiacs twice this season. It was in preseason but still. The Bulldogs dropped both contests to the Pontiacs. Wednesday night was a different story with the Bulldogs getting an 8-1 victory over the Pontiacs.

What are those Euro ads on their helmets? Almost as goofy lookin as Drumheller’s A&W stickers on their helmets. Almost. Makes it look like a European Junior game. Whitecourt has something similar. I am not sure what is said on them or what they are for I am assuming an advertisement. Kind of reminds me of when you have hockey school and the kids put tape on the top of their helmets and write their names on the top so you know what to call them.

Newly acquired Hunter Brown scored just under 2 minutes into the game at 1:51 of the first period. 1-0. That’s Brown’s second of the season and first as a Bulldog. Assist on the goal to Jayden Joly. Brown scored that goal just seconds after the announcer said Hunter Brown is making his Bulldogs debut👍

Hunter Brown scores again making it 2-0 Bulldogs at 4:59 of the first period. Assists on that goal to Alexander Dimitriadis and Edward Moskowitz. Super nice pass by Moskowtiz to find a streaking in Hunter Brown.

Alexander Dimitriadis scores his third goal of the season and makes it 3-0 unassisted at 10:26 of the first period. He did some nice dangling before he went down and scored too. Later on that period Luke Dahlen was right at the door step and pots an easy goal just sitting there at the empty net. 4-0 Bulldogs at 15:32 of the first period with the assist going to Jayden Joly. The Bulldogs outshot the Pontiacs 12-4 in the opening frame.

New comer Jack DesRuisseaux made it 5-0 at 17:43 of the second period assists to David Brandes and Aaron Brown.

Alex Dimitriadis gets his second goal of the game under a minute later. And that is the end of Bonnyville’s goaltender Bode Weiss and put in 6’7 Quebec native Nathan St Germain.

The Pontiacs netted a goal at 7 minutes into the second period. One trickled in and made it a 6-1 game. Former Drayton Valley Thunder and Brooks Bandit Tyler Bolcha got credit for the goal with the assist going to Pennsylvania native Billy Batten.

Tanner Willick made it 7-1 at 11:17 of the second period getting his first goal of the season. Assists on the goal to Alex Dimitriadis got his hat trick goal at 17:53 of the first period almost similar to his last goal to make it 8-1 Bulldogs.

28-15 shots for the Bulldogs after 2 periods of play.

There was no scoring in the third period and the shots were 9-7 for Bonnyville.

Wilson Maxfield stopped 23 of 24 shots that he faced for the Bulldogs to get the win. The three stars for the game were 1) Alexander Dimitriadis, 2) Hunter Brown, and 3) Jayden Joly.

Looks like almost all Pontiacs were caged. I could of missed one I am not certain. Every single kid on Brooks when I watched today was wearing a cage. Tomorrow the Pontiacs face Drayton Valley. That will be a good one to watch as it will be interesting to see how the former Bulldogs do with the Thunder.

Bulldogs next game is Saturday September 30th a late one again at 8 in Calgary against the Canmore Eagles.
