This is the fourth time already this season (Including Preseason) the Bulldogs have faced the Pontiacs. With their win tonight the Bulldogs are tied for first place in the AJHL with Camrose, Drumheller, and Brooks. Keep in mind Brooks has played 1 less game than Blackfalds, Camrose has played one more, and Drum has played the same. Drumheller beat Okotoks 2-0 in Drumheller on Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs started the game strong and had numerous scoring opportunities from the start.

Jayden Joly opened up the scoring on the Power Play at 4:00 of the first period with the assist on the goal going to Brendan Ross. That’s Joly’s 3rd goal of the season.
Shots were 9-7 Bulldogs but the period was all Bulldogs.

David Brandes made it a 2-0 game from Hunter Brown at 54 seconds into the second period. Brown made a beautiful pass over to Brandes which at the time didn’t look like it was going to make it to him, but it was right on the mark. It also made the play of the night.
Syracuse, New York native and Princeton commit James Schneid got the Pontiacs on the board and made it 2-1 on the Power Play at 3:52 of the second period knocking the water bottle off the net. Assist on the goal to Streetsville, Ontario native Joseph Macchione.

Alexander Dimitriadis scored his sixth goal of the season at 12:02 of the second period to make it a 3-1 Bulldogs game. With the assist going to Hunter Brown.
Shots in the 2nd were 12-9 Bulldogs
20 year old veteran Chicago native Luka Sukovic cut the lead to 3-2 at 2:49 of the third period. With the assists to Pier-Olivier Allard and Jordan Schanbacher.

Dakota MacIntosh makes it a 4-2 game scoring a great goal which is his second of the season. Assisted by Brendan Ross at 4:53 of the third period. I wish the camera would of got a better shot of MacIntosh waving at the Pontiacs bench after he scored the goal😆
Ottawa native 19 year old veteran Max Seguin made it a 4-3 game when he scored at 14:06 of the third period. Assist on the goal to 19 year old Missoula, Montana native Clarence Beltz.
Third Period the Pontiacs outshot the Bulldogs 14-11
Wilson Maxfield made 27 stops on the 30 shots he faced for the win. The big 6’7 Quebec kid Nathan St-Germain stopped 28 of the 32 shots he faced for Bonnyville.
Three stars of the game were 1) Hunter Brown 2) Brendan Ross 3) David Brandes
Attendance in Blackfalds was 450
Bulldogs next game is October 5th in Whitecourt against the Wolverines then they play the Storm in Grande Prairie the next night. Their next home game is Friday October 13th against the Canmore Eagles.
