The Rebels managed to get a point out of the now Bedard-less Pats Friday night at the Brandt Centre in Regina.

Tanner Howe made it 1-0 Pats with his 6th goal of the season. Assists on the goal to Americans program cover kid Borya Valis and assistant captain Braxton Whitehead.

The Rebels outshot the Pats 12-6 in the first period

Samuel Drancak scored his first WHL goal at 9:18 of the second period with the assist going to Kalan Lind. That ties the game up at 1. Drancak’s goal also made the WHL Highlight of the night for October 13th 😁 Lind drew the attention of most of the Pat defenders in their zone where he found Drancak alone in front of Huet and he deked out the Pats netminder to put the Rebels on even terms at 1-1.

Rebels Outshot the Pats 9-4 in the second period

Mats Lindgren made it a 2-1 game for the Rebels. With the assists going to Ollie Josephson and Carson Birnie at 2:44 of the third period. Josephson hit a wide-open trailing Lindgren with a pass in front of Huet and he tapped it past the Pats netminder to give the Rebels a one-goal lead at 2-1.

39 second later Samuel Drancak got his second goal of the season and of the game to make it a 3-1 game. With the assists going to Carson Latimer and Kalan Lind at 3:19 of the third period. Latimer’s pass from behind the Pats goalline is chipped home by Drancak to extend the Rebels lead to a pair just 35 seconds after grabbing the lead.

Palmer, Alaska native Braxton Whitehead cut the lead to 3-2 when he scored his 4th of the season on the Power Play at 10:33. Assists on the goal to Tanner Howe and Parker Berge.

Captain Tanner Howe tied the game up at 3 shorthanded at the 13:00 mark of the third period. Unassisted. Howe who is a 5’10 180lb forward is from Prince Albert and as of this post ranked at mynhldraft to go 24th overall in the 2024 NHL entry draft. Again just a mock draft.

Rebels outshot the Pats 16-9 in the third period of play. They also outshot the Pats 2-1 in overtime. Throughout the whole game the Rebels outshot the Pats 39-21 and the game is going to a shootout.

Cristobal Huet’s son rookie import Ewan Huet made 36 saves on 39 for the win. Huet was selected 36th overall by Regina in the 2023 CHL Import draft. Kyle Kelsey made 17 saves on 20 shots on the other end.

Levi Green to Bonnyville– The Red Deer Rebels have assigned 2005 born New Westminster, BC Native Levi Green to the Bonnyville Pontiacs of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

Forward Ryker Singer who played 28 games with the Rebels last season after being acquired in a trade from the Prince George Cougars for Arjun Bawa, is now playing for the Wainwright Bisons of the NEAJHL. (Junior B).
