Calgary Canucks who have started out the season fairly hot came into Blackfalds and lost 5-1.

Brendan Ross opened the scoring up 1:10 into the game with the assist on the goal to Dakota MacIntosh. That is the 12th goal of the season for Ross.

Wilson Maxfield went to stop the puck at 3:15 of the first period and sort of erred and the Canucks tied the game. The goal was credited to Jackson Bessette.

Brendan Gillmore scored his first junior hockey league goal at 4:50 of the first period by blasting a shot from the top of the circles. With the assists going to Dakota MacIntosh and Jayden Joly making it a 2-1 Bulldogs game.

Layne Loomer scored at 8:34 of the first period on the Power Play. That goal makes the game 3-1. With the assists going to Brendan Ross and Tanner Willick.

Shots in the first period were 12-6 Bulldogs

Dakota MacIntosh made the Canuck defenceman look like Bill Mikkleson* and coasted by him like he was on a picnic to score his 10th goal of the season. With the assist going to Edward Moskowitz. That made the game 4-1 Bulldogs.

Chop you and your Keebler Elf Cookie House Down!

You really do not notice how small Riley Hearn really is. He does not play like someone who is 5’4 (elite prospects has him listed at 5’3). He doesn’t even skate like a small person or look out of place at all out there. He is a good player who is literally a penalty magnet. The fact he slapped a full cage on fountain of youthed him by about a decade and some games you might think he is the pre game skater in the warm up. Hearn should of brought a ladder as he jumped up to punch Bulldog Dman Aaron Brown who chopped him back😆Hearn is like a smaller version of Matthew Barnaby.

Shots in the second period were 11-7 Bulldogs

Alexander Dimitriadis scored his 8th goal of the season shorthanded to make it a 5-1 game at 8:23 of the third period. Unassisted.

Shots were tied 10 each in the third. Bulldogs outshot the Canucks 33-23 in the game.

Three Stars of the game were 1) Dakota MacIntosh 2) Tanner Willick 3) Brendan Ross

Hunter Brown played in his 100th AJHL game. Brown is in his 3rd AJHL season and spent the previous two in Spruce Grove.

Ex- bulldog Ashton Funk is now a member of the Calgary Canucks this season. Funk played 25 games with the Bulldogs last season getting 7 points until being traded to the Yorkton Terriers of the SJHL.

Wilson Maxfield made 22 of 23 saves and should of had a shutout. If it was a goalie that sucked or some young kid the crappy goal he let in wouldn’t of been as funny. Its funny. At least it didn’t happen in overtime or something 🤪 Toronto native Julian Molinaro made 28 saves on the 33 shots he made. He was very quick to leave the ice after the game.

Attendance at the EBC was 565

Bulldogs next game is Tuesday October 17th against the Drumheller Dragons in Blackfalds. It will be the last time this season the Bulldogs play the Dragons in Blackfalds. Then the next weekend they play Camrose on the Friday in Camrose then on Saturday October 21st play Hunter Brown’s old team the Spruce Grove Saints at the EBC at 6pm.

He can laugh now lol. At least it didn’t happen with a minute left. Shutout X
