This marks the third time this season that the Bulldogs have played the Grizzlys and the third time they have beat the Grizzlys. It is also the third time this season that Aidan Comeau gets a night full of shots.
Olds looked like a better team that night than Fort McMurray did last week. Last year Olds was flat out terrible (minus their goalie Marcus Cumberworth ). This year they are a decent team at least. Man for man virtually any of those players would be a great addition to any team. It was a close game for the first half of the first period.
Greye Rampton put the Grizzlys on the board first just 1:27 into the first period with the assist going to Cade Moxham.

Jayden Joly replied for the Bulldogs at 5:17 of the period with the assists going to Ryan Shaw and Luke Dahlen.
Rookie Mitch Patrick made it a 2-1 game about a minute and a half later at 6:45 of the first when he scored his 5th goal of season. Assists on the goal to Daniel North and Kyle Vennemen.

Edward Moskowitz ties the game up with his 8th goal of the season from Brendan Ross and Layne Loomer at 9:29. Making it a tie game 2-2.

Connor Dick scored under a minute later at 10:22 from Kody Willick giving the Bulldogs their first lead of the game and making the score 3-2. Dick took a beautiful shot from the slot sneaking just over Comeau’s blocker which Olds seemed to let him sit and take his time doing. Those Grizzlys got to witness first hand and up close what alot of us in the stands paid $15 to see.

Connor Dick scored again for the Bulldogs making it 4-2 on a beautiful pass from Hunter Brown with the other assist going to Alexander Dimitriadis at 16:59. It has not been posted yet to twitter but I would assume that that would be the highlight of the night. But then again there were many others that could also be contenders.
Shots on goal in the first period were 15-10 for the Bulldogs. The only penalty for either team in the first period was a tripping penalty taken by Joly 10 seconds after the Grizzlys got their first goal. They killed off the penalty. Then Joly scored for the Bulldogs his next shift.

Luke Dahlen got his second goal of the season when he deflected a Carter Patterson point shot to make it a 5-2 game 9:20 into the second period. Only 26 seconds later Josh Knittig dove to tap a puck that was sitting on the goal line home and make the game 6-2 with the assists to Kody Willick and Otto Hanson. The AJHL website said that Hanson got the goal. You can clearly see Knittig hit in.

Layne Loomer scored his 9th goal of the season to make it a 7-2 game just 1:01 later at 10:21. The assists on the goal to Collin Eschricht and Hunter Brown. Ryan Shaw scored for the Bulldogs on the Power Play to make it an 8-2 game at 15:17 of the period. The assists went to goalie Wilson Maxfield and Connor Dick. These goals were coming fast to the refs and to the announcers. They probably erred some names in the process.

Alex Dimitriadis scored his 10th goal of the season under 2 minutes later on the Power Play top blocker corner on Comeau to make it a 9-2 game at 17:08 of the period with the assists going to Ryan Shaw and Connor Dick. Tanner Willick rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs in the second period finishing off a 2 on 1 with Connor Dick. That marks Dick’s 3rd assist of the game and 5th point. Shots on goal in the second period 18-8 for the Bulldogs

Connor Dick completes the hat trick 1:26 into the third period on an Olds give away unassisted. Again I should of brought a hat. We need to all start bringing hats. Have a hat hand out at the door. Have all the players leaving Blackfalds with large collections of John Deer hats.
North Vancouver native and former Sherwood Park Crusader Quinn Abbott scored for Olds on the PP to bring them with in 8 goals with over 17 minutes left in the game. With the assists to Ryder Many Grey Horses. But it just wasn’t enough.
Shots were 10 each in the third period. Shots in the game were 43 for the Bulldogs and 28 for the Grizzlys.

Wilson Maxfield stopped 25 of the 28 shots he faced for the win. While Aidan Comeau was a busy man in the other end of the ice making 32 saves on the 43 shots that he faced. In this short season so far Aidan Comeau has faced 125 pucks shot by Bulldog players in just 3 games against them!!!!
Three Stars of the game were 1) Connor Dick 2) Ryan Shaw 3) Luke Dahlen. Dick has 9 points in the last 2 games against Olds.
Attendance in Blackfalds 682
Bulldogs next game is Sunday November 5th in Drayton Valley at 2pm don’t forget to set your clocks back. The next home game is Wednesday the 8th against the Canmore Eagles which is Super Hero night.

On another note last seasons Olds Grizzlys player Logan Neilson was playing in that game in the English Pro League where Adam Johnson was murdered by a drop kick.😲
