Any other night, any other game, any other team this could of been a 3-3 game. The Rebels though had something the Hitmen did not. Rhett Stoesser in net. Stoessser stonewalled the Hitmen not allowing one of the 40 shots he faced on Saturday night.

Carson Latimer opened up the scoring for the Rebels at 7:32 of the first period on the Power Play. With the assists on the goal to Mats Lindgren and Kai Uchacz.Carson Latimer opened the scoring for Red Deer with a power play marker at 7:42 in the first.

Shots in the first period were tied at 12 each.

Carson Latimer scored short handed just 37 seconds into the second period unassisted.Latimer struck again a mere 37 seconds into the second frame. Buenaventura beat Kai Uchacz to a loose puck and his clearing shot glanced off the side boards and right to Latimer, who found the back of the net before the goaltender could get back in time.

Shots in second period were 12-5 for the Hitmen

Talon Brigley finished the deal to make it 3-0 into an empty net with assists to Ollie Josephson and Kai Uchacz at 19:49.

Shots in the third period were tied at 13 each.

Rhett Stoesser was stellar and stopped all 40 shots that he faced for the win and his third shutout of the season. Now if you look at Stoesser’s stats for the year he has 3 wins this season. Out of those 3 wins 2 are shutouts. Ethan Buenaventua stopped 27 of the 29 shots that he faced for the Hitmen.
