Just 33 seconds into the game Kai Uchacz dropped the gloves with former Merritt Centennial Aleksey Chichkin. Reason? Who knows, who cares, keep it upđź‘ŤChichkin is a BC native as much as I thought the name was that of a Russian Import or something.
Matthew Gard scored his first WHL goal unassisted at 2:20 of the first period.-His first goal came a mere 2:20 into the game when he took advantage of a turnover in the Calgary end and from 12 feet out beat netminder Ethan Buenaventura to the top corner.

17 year old Grimshaw, Alberta native Keets Fawcett puts the Hitmen on the board and makes the game 1-1 at 13:05 of the second period. Assists on the goal to Carson Wetsch and Oliver Tulk.–Red Deer’s narrow lead held until Hitmen forward Keets Fawcett lifted a rebound over goaltender Rhett Stoesser at 13:05 of the second period. Stoesser made a brilliant sprawling save on Carson Wetsch but had no chance on Fawcett’s shot.

Kai Uchacz scored his 12th goal of the season unassisted to make it a 2-1 game at 7:51 of the third period.– The Rebels killed back to back penalties early in the third period before captain Kai Uchacz scored on a breakaway from the Red Deer blueline.
Matthew Gard scored his second goal of the season and of the game to make it 3-1 Rebels at 8:56 of the third. The assists on the goal went to Ollie Josephson and Talon Brigley.– Gard potted his second of the night, depositing a loose puck after a wrap around attempt by Josephson.
Sean Tschigerl scores for the Hitmen to make it a 3-2 game with the assists going to Ben Kindel and and Carson Wetsch at 19:01.– The Hitmen pulled to within one with 59 seconds remaining when Ben Kindle, from the corner, rimmed the puck behind the net and Sean Tschigerl scored on a one-timer from the goal line. It was a six-on-five marker with Buenaventura on the bench.
Rhett Stoesser made 26 saves on the 28 shots that he faced for the win. On the other end for the Hitmen Ethan Buenaventura made 43 saves on the 46 shots that he got peppered with all night.
