It was minor hockey night in Blackfalds where the Bulldogs defeated the Thunder 4-2. Also a game where the Bulldogs play against former team mates in Kurt Gurkan, Alexey Trishchuk, Jack Plandowski, Ty Gordon, and for a brief few pre season games Ben Winkleman. Gurkan is the only Thunder player with an NCAA commitment.

Ryan Shaw opens up the scoring for the Bulldogs at 6:59 of the first period. Assists on the goal to Aaron Brown and former Thunder player Cody Pisarczyk. I was stunned at how long the Thunder players let Brown coast by them. I think no one was more shocked though than Brown who found a wide open Shaw coasting in up the middle.
Former Bulldog Alexey Trischuk scores on a bullet from the point to tie the game up for the Thunder at 16:50 of the opening period to make it 1-1. The assists on the goal went to Luke Roberts and another former Bulldog Jack Plandowski. Trischuk now has scored more goals against the Bulldogs than he ever did for them.
Shots on goal in the opening period were 11-10 for the Bulldogs

Brendan Ross made it a 2-1 game scoring his league leading 26th goal of the season at 5:51 of the second period with the assists on the goal to Aaron Brown and Layne Loomer. No offence but Ross was totally your man, I won’t name names #5 white. When the league’s leading scorer is out on the ice you sort of pay attention to where he is at all times or else things like that happen. The Defender even moved out of the way a little bit allowing Ross to get a better shot. It is great when people work together.

Then with 2 minutes remaining in the second period Carter “Pronger” Patterson made it a 3-1 game. With the assists going to Otto Hanson. Hanson won the draw back to Patterson who breezed around a pylon of a player and beat Nixon.
Shots on goal in the second period were 20-7 for the Bulldogs

Luke Dahlen made it a 4-1 game 1:55 into the third period with the assists on the goal going to Carter Patterson and Alexander Dimitriadis.
Adam Grenier scored his 14th goal of the season to make it a 4-2 game at 6:16 of the third period. Unassisted.
Shots in the third period was 15-5 for the Bulldogs. With the Bulldogs out shooting the Thunder in the game 46-22.
Wilson Maxfield stopped 20 of the 22 shots that he faced for the Bulldogs for the win. While former Mississauga Steelhead & Toronto Junior Canadien Chazz Nixon made 42 saves on the 46 shots that he faced for the Thunder.

Three Stars of the game were 1) Carter Patterson 2) Aaron Brown 3) Chazz Nixon
Attendance in Blackfalds was 942
Bulldogs next game is Sunday December 3rd against the Sherwood Park Crusaders. Its the annual Teddy Bear Toss.
Hoping for the best but the way Cody Pisarczyk landed on the ice and the way his shoulder appeared did not look good. Hoping it is something minor if anything at all, but that looked so painful my shoulder still aches from seeing it. He could be out not certain on the other injuries. Knittig may be suspended for a game. Bulldogs could be short benched tomorrow.

Connor Dick To Chilliwack Chiefs. Kind of makes sense now why he hasn’t been in the line up the last few games. Too bad he was enjoyable to watch.

Matt Hanscom is also now not listed on the Bulldogs roster.
