Rebels defeated the Raiders 2-1 in Prince Albert Saturday night. Tonight is the annual Teddy Bear Toss in Prince Albert. It could of been where they didn’t throw them at all or for no goal. I usually thought they hucked them at the 10 minute mark of the third if no one scored by then.
Shots in the first were 10-9 for the Raiders.
Zane Saab scores his first WHL goal at 2:02 of the second period with the assists going to Jace Weir and Dwayne Jean Jr. Rebels lead 1-0.– Zane Saab scored his first-ever WHL goal 2:03 into the second period, converting a centering pass from Dwayne Jean Jr.
Talon Brigley gives the Rebels a 2-0 lead on the Power Play with 56 seconds remaining in the middle period. The assist on the goal went to Jace Weir.– With the Rebels on the power play, Talon Brigley doubled their lead in the final minute of the middle period, blowing a one-timer from the left circle after taking a cross-ice pass from Jace Weir.
Shots in the second were 15-4 for the Rebels.
Sloan Stanick scored for the Raiders with 1:07 remaining in the game to make it 2-1 and let the Bears fall. Assists on the goal went to Niall Crocker and Ryder Ritchie.– With 1:07 left on the clock, Sloan Stanick finally sent the bears onto the ice, as he scored a goal on the doorstep to make it a 2-1 game. His 12th goal of the season caused a brief cleanup delay, as the bears were taken off the ice before resuming play. The refs and the Raiders should of just been graceful hosts and let the Rebels leave with the win so they didn’t have to sit around and wait for the Raiders to clean the Ice off. I mean its just a minute and its almost Christmas.
Shots in the third period of play were 12-5 for the Raiders. With the Raiders outshooting the Rebels in the game 36-29.
Chase Wutzke made 35 stops of the 36 shots that he faced for the win. For the Raiders Max Hildebrand made 27 stops on the 29 shots that he faced.
Three Stars of the game were 1) Chase Wutzke 2) Sloan Stanick 3) Zane Saab
Attendance in Prince Albert was 2,226
