The Rebels get to go into their Christmas break with a win. Also tonight marks the return of Kalan Lind who has been injured for the last 2 weeks.

Winnipeg native Aaron Krestanowich makes it 1-0 Pats 1:44 into the game with a shot from the point. The assist went to Palmer, Alaska native Braxton Whitehead.-opened the scoring 1:44 into the contest when Aaron Krestanowich’s shot from the point found its way through a crowd and past a screened Wutzke.

Kai Uchacz scores his 20th goal of the season for the Rebels to tie the game up at 10:43 of the first period with the assists to Frantisek Formanek and Carson Birnie.The Rebels worked the puck around the Pats zone and the puck got to Uchacz, who ripped it past Pyne to tie the game up at 1-1.

Tanner Howe takes the lead back for the Pats on the Power Play at 12:49 of the first period. The assists on the goal went to former Seattle Thunderbird Sam Oremba and 20 year old Edmonton native Parker Berge.Oremba dropped the puck to Howe at the top of the left circle and he had a lane and ripped a wrist shot past Wutzke to restore the Pats one-goal lead at 2-1.

Rebels outshot the Pats 10-8 in the opening frame.

Frantisek Formanek tied the game back up at 15:05 of the second period. The assists on the goal went to Kai Uchacz and Kalan Lind.A shot was deflected high in the air near the Pats blue paint, Formanek tracked the loose puck and tucked it past Pyne to tie the game up at 2-2.

Jace Weir scores his first of the season to take the lead for the Rebels at 16:47 of the second period from Matteo Fabrizi and Jhett Larson.Weir took a wrist shot from the top of the right circle that bounced off a player in front of Pyne and past the Pats goaltender to give the Rebels their first lead of the game at 3-2.

Regina outshot the Rebels 13-10 in the middle period.

Kalan Lind makes it a 4-2 game at 12:40 of the third period from Frantisek Formanek and Kai UchaczThe Rebels got behind the Pats’ defence and broke in on an odd-man rush and Lind beat Pyne who had no chance to give the Rebels a 4-2 lead.

Tanner Howe replied for the Pats less than a minute later when he scored at 13:14 of the third period to put the Pats within one. The assists went to Parker Berge and Denver, Colorado native Borya Valis.Berge’s shot deflected off the back boards, off the goalie, and to Howe who was Johnny-on-the-spot to pull the Pats to within one at 4-3.

Borya Valis ties the game up at 16:43 of the third period with the assists on the goal to Braxton Whitehead and Airdrie native Jaren BrinsonWhitehead fed Vails at the point and he let a slapshot go that beat Wutzke top corner to pull the Pats even at 4-4.

Shots on goal in the third period were 12-7 for the Rebels.

Nothing was solved in three on three overtime so this is going to a shoot out. In overtime the Rebels clobbered the Pats in shots 7-1.

Rebels goalie Chase Wutzke stopped 25 of the 29 shots that he faced for the win. For the Pats White City, Saskatchewan native Kelton Pyne stopped 36 of the 40 shots he was faced with all night.

Rebels next game is not until December 27th at home against the Medicine Hat Tigers.


As of December 16th/2023 mynhldraft.com has Tanner Howe ranked at #27 and has him going to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Which has him return back on to the list.

It now has Medicine Hat forward Cayden Lindstrom at #2 going to the San Jose Sharks.


This is on the boards in Red Deer and it is disturbing. Very disturbing. The irony of an injury there could be internet famous.
