Handpicked by the NHL’s 32 franchises in December, the 40 chosen players from the Western Hockey League (WHL), Ontario Hockey League (OHL), and Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) have been organized into two teams by NHL Central Scouting. In the upcoming 2024 Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, Team Red and Team White will showcase talent from 32 CHL clubs. The Oshawa Generals lead the way with three players, closely followed by the Mississauga Steelheads, London Knights, Tri-City Americans, Medicine Hat Tigers, Spokane Chiefs, and Calgary Hitmen, each boasting two representatives. The Prospects game is Wednesday January 24th in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Last Friday, it was also announced that Team Red will be captained by London Knights defenceman Sam Dickinson, while Spokane Chiefs centreman Berkly Catton will captain Team White. Joining Dickinson in the leadership group for Team Red are alternate captains Ollie Josephson (Red Deer Rebels) and Maxim Massé (Chicoutimi Saguenéens), while serving as alternate captains with Team White under Catton are Spencer Gill (Rimouski Océanic) and Henry Mews (Ottawa 67’s).
