The Sherwood Park Crusaders and the Blackfalds Bulldogs faced off in their first-ever game as members of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). The game ended with a 4-1 victory for the Crusaders, marking their first win in the league.

Hunter Price opened up the scoring for the Crusaders at 3:47 of the first period. The assists on the goal to Kale Dach and Noah Wills.

Trent LeDrew tied the game up for the Bulldogs at 18:32 of the first period with the assists on the goal going to Brendan Ross and Dakota MacIntosh.

Shots on goal in the first period were 10-7 for the Bulldogs.

Noah Wills made it a 2-1 Crusaders game when he scored shorthanded just 55 seconds into the middle frame. The assist on the goal went to captain Logan Hauer

Noah Wills scored his second goal of the game on the Power Play at 8:36 of the second period with the assists on the goal going to Ryan Zaremba and Cole Assailly.

Shots in the second were 14-8 for the Crusaders.

Logan Hauer scored on the Power Play at 2:35 of the third period to make it a 4-1 game with the assists on the goal going to Kale Dach and St. Cloud State commit Brock Souch.

Shots on goal in the third was 16-11 for the Crusaders with the Crusaders outshooting the Bulldogs 37-29 in the game.

Erik Roest made 28 saves on the 29 shots that he faced for the win for the Crusaders. Gabe Gratton made 33 saves on the 37 shots that he faced for the Bulldogs.

Bulldogs next game is at home on Saturday February 10th at 6pm against the Brooks Bandits

Either place he goes it is a huge loss for the Bulldogs. It is great move for Loomer and really hope he does well there. In all reality there is probably zero chance he plays junior next year. He should be in the NCAA next year (if not now) so his Nebraska stop (what ever team it is) should be just a small few month lay over before playing for the Nittany Lions.


The Blackfalds Bulldogs have signed 2005-born defenseman Easton Adrian for the remainder of the 2023-24 season. Adrian, who played for the Drumheller Dragons in the AJHL, brings a high-end hockey IQ, great puck skills, and the ability to contribute in all situations to the Bulldogs’ back end.
