He sped down the right side, skillfully maneuvered towards the net, and neatly slipped the puck between the pads of goaltender Chase Wutzke.

Shots on goal in the second period were 16-7 for the Oil Kings

Former Seattle Thunderbird Gracyn Sawchyn made it a 2-0 Oil Kings game at 7:12 of the third period. Assist on the goal went to the Scottsdale, Arizona native Ty Nash. Ty Nash’s father is former NHLer and 3 time Memorial Cup Champion Tyson Nash. Gracyn Sawchyn clinched the decisive goal at 7:12 into the third period. During a three-on-two rush, Ty Nash paused near the right circle before delivering a pass to Sawchyn positioned in the low slot. Sawchyn swiftly dispatched the puck past Wutzke, finding the net on the glove side.

Carson Birnie scored his 13th goal of the season at 16:42 of the third period with the assists going to Ollie Josephson and Matteo Fabrizi.-The Rebels finally broke through with just over three minutes remaining. Ollie Josephson bounced a puck off the end boards and directly in front, where Carson Birnie chipped it home for his 13th of the season.

Adam Jecho scores his 16th goal of the season into the empty net to make it a 3-1 Oil Kings game. The assist on the goal went to Gavin Hodnett with just 8 seconds remaining in the game

Shots on goal in the third period were 13-12 for Rebels. The Oil Kings outshot the Rebels in the game 36-31.

16 year old Sexsmith, Alberta native Hudson Perry made 30 saves on the 31 shots that he faced for his first ever WHL win. Chase Wutzke made 33 saves on the 35 shots that he faced for the Rebels.

 The Rebels were minus the services of three forwards — Kalan Lind, who sat out with an illness, and Jeramiah Roberts and Carson Latimer, both injured. Defenceman Quentin Bourne started the game at forward for Red Deer but left in the first period after being cross-checked into the boards by Ismail Abougouche.

If I didn’t need another reason to hate the Vancouver Canucks even more, they didn’t dress Arshdeep Bains tonight against Winnipeg. Maybe next time. The Canucks lost to the Jets 4-2.
