The Rebels lost the first game Friday night to the Hurricanes in a home and home weekend series 5-2. The Rebels called up 2023 first round bantam draft pick Beckett Hamilton for the game and he will make is debut.
18 year old Swiss native Leo Braillard opened up the scoring for the Hurricanes at 13:09 of the first period with the assists going to Tristen Doyle and Joe Arntsen –Leo Braillard broke over the blueline and from high in the right circle beat goaltender Chase Wutzke to the far corner of the net.
Kai Uchacz got his 41st goal of the season to make it a 1-1 game from Jhett Larson and Mats Lindgren at 16:26 of the Power Play.–The Rebels responded shortly after with a power play tally from captain Kai Uchacz, who deposited a cross-crease pass from Jhett Larson with Red Deer enjoying a two-man advantage.
Landen Ward the son of 1996 NHL first rounder Lance Ward got his 3rd goal of the season to make it a 2-1 game for the Hurricanes. The assists on the goal went to Hayden Pakkala and Tristen Doyle.–the Hurricanes pulled back in front when Landen Ward cashed in a rebound for his third goal of the season

Talon Brigley scored at 10:02 of the second frame the assists from Carson Birnie and Ollie Josephson.- Red Deer did eventually pull even on a rebound goal by Talon Brigley who banged home his 19th goal of the season to tie the game 2-2; Ollie Josephson and Carson Birnie drew the assists on the goal.

Prince George native Miguel Marques gave the Hurricanes a 3-2 lead at 3:51 of the third period with the assists on the goal going to Braeden Wynne and Hayden Pakkala. Marques will probably selected in the first two rounds of the 2024 NHL draft.–In the third period, the Hurricanes pulled ahead with an early by as Miguel Marques wired a shot from the right wing beating Chase Wutzke bardown for his 27th goal of the season just 3:51 into the period to give Lethbridge a 3-2 lead; Braeden Wynne and Pakalla earned the assists on the goal.
Abbotsford native Brayden Edwards made it a 4-2 game at 15:44 of the third period with assists on that goal to Miguel Marques and Joe Arntsen.– Brayden Edwards snuck a shot past Wutzke at the 15:44 mark
20 year old Dylan Sydor whose father Daryl was a first round selection back in 1990 puts it into the empty net to make it 5-2 Hurricanes unassisted with 36 seconds left in the game.
Shots on goal were 11-9 for the Hurricanes in the third period
Harrison Meneghin made 25 saves on the 27 shots that he faced for the win for the Hurricanes. Chase Wutzke made 22 saves on the 26 shots that he faced for the Rebels
