The Red Deer Rebels and the Lethbridge Hurricanes faced off last night. The Hurricanes managed to secure a 3-2 victory in overtime, with a game-winning goal by Noah Chadwick. This clinched a playoff spot for the Hurricanes. Rebels Kai Uchacz was honoured prior to the game with Red Deer’s Red Deer Advocate Male Athlete of the Year.
Shots in the first period were 9-4 for the Rebels.

Samuel Drancak scored his 11th goal of the season to make it a 1-0 game at 7:22 of the second period with the assists on the goal going to Kalan Lind and Derek Thurston–Samuel Drancak scored his 11th of the season at 7:22 of the second frame. Kalan Lind attempted a wrap around and Drancak chipped the puck past goaltender Brody Smith.
Delta native and rookie Will Sharpe made it even for the Hurricanes at 8:44 of the middle frame with the assist to Kooper Gizowski and Braeden Wynne.–The visitors pulled even just over a minute later as Will Sharpe buried a long rebound

Matthew Gard scored his 7th goal of the season to make it a 2-1 Rebels game. The assists on the goal went to Kalan Lind and Samuel Drancak.–Matthew Gard restored Red Deer’s lead later in the period, skating over the blueline and from the top of the right circle beating Smith high to the glove side.
Shots on goal in the second period were tied at 13 each.

Shots in overtime were 3-1 for the Rebels. In the game each team finished the night with 33 shots each.
Cloverdale, BC native Brady Smith stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced for the win for the Hurricanes. While Rhett Stoesser made 30 saves on the 33 shots that he faced for the Rebels.
