The Bulldogs fell 6-4 to the Sherwood Park Crusaders to trail the series 2-0 on Saturday night. The games in that Randy Rosen arena in Sherwood Park make it look like a dungeon. It just looks so gloomy and depressing on TV like your watching an old rerun of the Addams Family. Flip through the games if you have FLO hockey tv. Virtually all the other arenas look like happy nice places. This looks like they are playing in a Mexican Prison cell in Sherwood Park. Here are a list of lighting stores in Sherwood Park LINK. Shell out a few bucks and go there and buy some decent lights. That would be a good start.

Aaron Brown scored from the point to make it a 1-0 Bulldogs game at 6:00 of the first period. The assists on the goal went to Easton Adrian and Carter Cormier. Aaron Brown must of ate his Wheaties or something before the game this was by far the best game I have watched him play since joining the Bulldogs.
Connor Gengle tied the game up at 14:44 of the first period with the assists going to Ryder Ringor and Dominic Payne.
The Bulldogs got very sloppy and handed the Crusaders a goal when Hunter Price got his second of the playoffs and gave the Crusaders a 2-1 lead. The assist on the goal went to Kale Dach. Maxfield had no chance.

Dakota MacIntosh ties it up at 2 at 18:51 of the first period with the assist going to Jayden Joly.
Shots on goal in the first period were tied at 11 each
Nick Wellenreiter makes it 3-2 Lots of questions on the goal. Lord knows if it went in as the cameras suck in Sherwood Park and there is no replays. Guess it is a goal. The assist on the goal went to Ryan Zaremba apparently.

Ryan Shaw 3-3 on the Power Play. You could see the hole he had to shoot at even on TV with the crap dark camera work. Beautiful goal. Assist on the goal went to Easton Adrian.
Kale Dach gives the Crusaders the lead 4-3 on the Power Play at 10:39 of the second period with the assists on the goal going to Noah Wills and Cole Assailly. Have to hand it to the Pride Cru that was a pretty nice goal.
Have to love the announcer “there is Raesler lets see if he can skate from the penalty box to the bench with out getting a penalty, Oh wow he did its a miracle.” He only had about his normal 3 stupid penalty a game by this point. He didn’t play much after the announcer said that which is really too bad. The more he is on the ice the bigger liability he is to the Crusaders.
Ethan Merner makes it 5-3 with only 25 seconds remaining in the second period. The assists on the goal went to Logan Hauer and Cooper Sharp.
Shots on goal in the second period were 13-6 for the Crusaders
Gabe Gratton is going to start the third period as the Crusaders ran Maxfield.

Dakota MacIntosh gets his second goal of the game to get the Bulldogs within 1 its a 5-4 game. The assist on the goal went to Jayden Joly.
With 54 seconds left in the game the Pride Cru fired it into the empty net to make it a 6-4 game. The goal was scored by Ryder Ringor assisted by Logan Hauer at 19:06.
Shots on goal in the third period were 9-7 for the Crusaders. The Pride Cru outshot the Bulldogs 33-24.
Erik Roest made 20 saves on the 24 shots that he faced for the win for the Crusaders. While Wilson Maxfield made 18 stops on the 23 shots he faced while Gabe Gratton stopped all 9 shots that he faced. The BCHL website for some reason still reads the next day that Maxfield only played 1 period.?

Three Stars of the game were 1) Kale Dach 2) Easton Adrian 3) Dakota MacIntosh
Attendance in Sherwood Park was 861
Bulldogs next game is Tuesday April 23rd in Blackfalds
The Bulldogs are wearing their Black jerseys again but then I kind of noticed around the league all the teams are wearing their darks on the road. Also The Crusaders have their little skater out with them before the game. Why do the Bulldogs have the kids wait on the bench?

Brooks looked absolutely disgusting on TV last night. They were losing to Okotoks and acted just like you would expect. Okotoks was having 5 on 3s ect. It looked at one point the Oilers didn’t want to score on Brooks to prevent them from going psycho and injuring their players in a fit of whine. When refs actually call penalties on them it is harder for them to win. Nathan Free crosschecked O’Halloran in the face and became a speed bag. (league will review that expect a huge suspension on Free) Ethan Beyer also did a brutal cross check at the end and got the boot. These should be very lengthy suspensions. It is exactly what you would expect from a team of spoiled brats. A team with kids so spoiled one of their parents actually bought a cabin on a lake to claim they were Alberta residents so their son could play on Brooks. Or be a scratched.
Out of all the BCHL teams the Sherwood Park Crusaders are the worst to watch on TV. I don’t know if its mainly the location of the camera or what. But its ultra bush compared to the rest. Most of the other AJHL teams that the Bulldogs played against were better also. Fort Mac and Brooks usually did the best. I never watch the Bulldogs games at home on TV so I couldn’t tell you about those, but the highlights always seem great. Sherwood Park may of done better than Olds and Drayton on TV and thats about it.
The Calgary Canucks have captured the 2024 Inter Pipeline Cup as Alberta Junior Hockey League Champions, marking their tenth league title in franchise history. The Canucks defeated the Whitecourt Wolverines 3-2 in game four of the league final to sweep the series on Wednesday night in Calgary, AB. Out of the remaining teams left I am happy that they won it. I wanted it to be either them or Drumheller. I still wish Drum would join the BCHL but thats a whole different story. Good for the Canucks and good for former Bulldogs Jack Plandowski and Cody Pisarczyk. Plandowski had 12 assists in 15 playoff games and Pisarczyk had 5 points in 15 playoff games with the Canucks. Excellent crowds for the Canucks also too getting about 1500 for their playoff games.
