The Bulldogs opened up their long road stint losing a close one 2-1 against the Cranbrook Bucks.
Shots after a scoreless first period where it appeared Waylon Esche and Jaden Cholette applied poly caulking in the nets, were 10-7 for Cranbrook.
Kaslo Ferner scored for the Bucks short side top shelf at 6:08 of the first period to make it a 1-0 game. The assists on the goal went to Shane Baker and Jordan Murray
Shots on goal in the second period were 15-6 for the Bulldogs.
Joey Melo notches his first BCHL goal at 8:07 of the third period with the assist going to Jayden Joly.
Calgary native Sammy Hynes scored his first ever BCHL goal also which proved to be the game winner for the Bucks at 14:40 of the third period. The assist on the goal went to University of Alaska-Anchorage commit Tanner Fennell.
Shots on goal in the third period were 11-7 for the Bucks. The Bulldogs ended up outshooting the Bucks in the game though 29-27.
For the Cranbrook Bucks goalie Gloucester, Ontario native Jaden Cholette made 28 saves on the 29 shots that he faced. For the Bulldogs Waylon Esche made 25 saves on the 27 shots that he faced.
