The Bulldogs lost their sixth game in a row Saturday night falling to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks 5-2. That gives the Bulldogs a record of 2 and 16 on the season. Even the Powell River Kings have a better record and are almost out of reach. There is no point in this league either in gunning for last to get the first overall pick. Something has to change and you can tell in the stands the players just seem like they don’t want to be there or there is a mass tension going on.
Toronto native Cole Cooksey scored for the Silverbacks at 15:44 on the Power Play when he was left all alone beside Esche to make it a 1-0 game. The assists on the goal went to Captain Maddux Martin and Roenick Jodoin.
Former Lincoln Star Patrick Raftery give the Silverbacks a 2-0 lead on the Power Play again at 17:58 of the first period. The assists on the goal went to Aidan Willis and Chase Bambrick.

Tristan Payne scored his first junior goal at 18:14 of the first period with a shot from the point. The assist went to Shane Purves.
Shots on goal in the first period were 17-11 for the Silverbacks
Salmon Arm native Maddux Martin scored his 10th goal of the season at 13:01 of the second period going to University of Denver commit Ben MacBeath and Warman, Saskatchewan native Riley Ashe.
Shots on goal in the second period were 13-10 for the Silverbacks
Tommy Cronin makes it a 4-1 game at 7:23 of the third period with the assists on the goal going to Patrick Raftery and Winnipeg native Kaycee Coyle. I went to school with a Kaycee Coyle, she was a nice person.
Beamsville, Ontario native Liam Beamish then makes it a 5-1 game at 15:21 of the third period with the assist going to Patrick Raftery.

Matthew Ronn scored on the Power Play at 19:15 of the third period with the assist going to Ryan Shaw. I remember the other night complaining about the offensive output of the D men. They were all what little offence the Bulldogs had tonight.
Shots on goal in the third period were 8 to 6 for the Silverbacks. Salmon Arm outshot the Bulldogs 38-27 in the game.
Former Merritt Centennial Andrew Ballantyne made 25 saves on the 27 shots that he face for the win for the Silverbacks. For the Bulldogs Waylon Esche made 33 saves on the 38 shots that he faced.
Three Stars of the game were 1) Maddux Martin 2) Patrick Raftery 3) Tristan Payne
Attendance in Blackfalds was 1089. It was minor hockey night. There is also an U11 tournament going on at the arenas this weekend. I think that Carstairs team could give the Bulldogs and most of the BCHL a run.
Bulldogs next game is Wednesday November 20th in Spruce Grove against the Saints. The Bulldogs next home game is November 22nd Friday when the Brooks Bandits are in town.
