That was a whole different team playing from the last month. It almost really is and tonight they decided to play a hockey game. There was actual effort. Even though the Bulldogs lost the Saints leaving are the first team that has been able to walk away from here and say they won a real hockey game, not we were handed 2 points by guys who didn’t want to play.

Ethan Kronewitt makes it a 1-0 Saints game just 3:16 into the first period from Tennessee State commit Stephen Kirkpatrick. I remember thinking, here we go again.

Matthew Croxall tied the game up at 7:31 of the first period on the Power Play with a blast from the right side with the assists going to newly acquired Alex Bosland and Antoine Gauthier.

Then at 10:01 of the first period Matthew Croxall strips the puck right off of Teo Pisani’s stick infront of the Saint’s goal and put in his second of the night and 8th of the season to make it a 2-1 game. And makes me think the Bulldogs may of fleeced the Crusaders in the last trade and got the better end of the stick.

Shots on goal in the first period were 10-9 for the Bulldogs

Teo Pisani then scored a shorthanded marker to tie the game back up at 2 unassisted at 5:32 of the second period. Right after the Bulldogs had numerous chances at the other end to make it a 3-1 game in their favor.

Former Bonnyville Pontiac Max Seguin makes it a 3-2 game for the Saints when he picked up the garbage outside of the crease. The assist on the goal went to Keifer Miller.

Josh Polak scored a neat looking goal to make it a 4-2 Saints game at 13:11 of the second period with the assist on the goal going to Keifer Miller.

Shots on goal in the second period were 17-6 for the Saints

Gates Omicioli scores his third goal of the season on the Power Play at 1:37 of the third period. The assists on the goal went to Jayden Joly and Ryan Shaw.

Former Winkler Flyer and Nova Scotia native James Richards makes it a 5-3 game for the Saints on the Power Play at 8:26 of the third period with the assist on the goal going to Max Seguin.

Antoine Gauthier scored for the Bulldogs at 9:41 of the third period to get them within one. The assists on the goal went to Jack McAra and Gates Omicioli. Micelli didn’t even have time to react to the shot.

Antoine Gauthier tied the game up with one of the prettiest goals I have seen scored at the Eagle Builders Centre. The guy behind me thought it was a fluke and I still think he meant to bank it off the goalie (at least it appeared like he knew what he was doing). That tied the game up at 5 at 10:05 of the third period. The assists on the goal went to Alex Bosland and Gates Omicioli.

Shots on goal in the third period were 15-10 for The Bulldogs

Former Chilliwack Chief 20 year old Winnipeg native Austin Peters scored the game winner for the Saints just 39 seconds into overtime with the assists going to Keifer Milelr and Adam Lang.

Shots in overtime were 1-0 for the Saints. The Saints ended up outshooting the Bulldogs 37-31 in the game.

Xander Miceli made 26 saves on the 31 shots that he faced for the win for the Saints. For the Bulldogs Mikkel Christensen made 31 saves on the 37 shots that he faced.

Three Stars of the game were 1) Antoine Gauthier 2) Matthew Croxall 3) Max Seguin

Attendance in Blackfalds was 433 which was alot more than most expected after the last few gong show outings.

Bulldogs next game is December 13th Friday in Vernon against the Vipers. The Bulldogs next home game isn’t until New Years Eve and it is against the Okotoks Oilers.
