The Canadians beat the Latvians by a score of 10-0 last year getting less shots. Also in that game 2 players Matthew Wood and Carson Rehkopf had multi point games. This year Rehkopf is a healthy scratch for the game and Matthew Wood got cut before the camp started.

Schaefer went hard into the net when he was admiring his rebound work and sort of forgot the post was there. He went down the tunnel hopefully ok. He did not return for the rest of the game. UPDATE*- Schaefer will miss the remainder of the tournament.

Then Cal Ritchie left the game down the tunnel after a weird collision. He ended up returning shortly after though.

Nothing happened in Overtime although Canada got a penalty at the end. I had no clue as I have never seen it happen before but if you are in the penalty box at the end of the game, you can not participate in the shootout. So the Canadians made sure that McKenna was not in the box. Canada outshot the Latvians 6-5 in the 3 on 3 overtime period and ended up outshooting them 57-26 in the game.
