Wearing special jerseys tonight. The Red Deer Rebels showcased their offensive firepower (They have the lowest goals for in the WHL🙄) in a 4-2 victory over the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors at the Peavy Mart Centrium on Friday night. The Rebels’ trio of first-period goals — one shorthanded, one at even strength, and one on the power play — set the tone for the game. Samuel Drancak opened the scoring after intercepting a Moose Jaw pass, giving the Rebels an early lead. Gleb Semenov and Kalan Lind further extended the advantage, capitalizing on momentum and opportunities in the Moose Jaw zone.
Despite efforts from the Warriors, who managed to score through Ethan Hughes and Krzysztof Macias, the Rebels’ lead proved too substantial to overcome. Moose Jaw had their moments, particularly on special teams, but Red Deer’s defense and goaltending were solid throughout. The Rebels added an empty-net goal in the dying seconds of the game to clinch the two points. This win marks the third consecutive victory for Red Deer, following a 3-0 shutout against the Warriors in Moose Jaw the previous Saturday.

Samuel Drancak opened up the scoring for the Rebels shorthanded at 6:44 of the first period.- A turnover in the Rebels’ zone allowed Samuel Drancak to open the scoring. While shorthanded, Drancak intercepted a Moose Jaw pass and dashed down the right wing, eventually lifting a shot high over the short side of Warriors’ goaltender, Michael Hutchison. This marked Drancak’s seventh goal of the season and Red Deer’s fifth shorthanded score.

Gleb Semenov got his first WHL goal at 12:56 of the first period. The helpers on the goal went to Jack Bousquet and Brett Calhoon.– Momentum on the Rebels side, Jack Bousquet held the puck in at the point and got it to the slot. The bouncing puck landed on the stick blade of Gleb Semenov, who notched his first WHL goal.

Kalan Lind scores on the Power Play to make it a 3-0 Rebels game at 19:48 of the first period. With the assists going to Ty Coupland and Doogan Pederson-In the final minute of the period and with the Rebels on a power play, Ty Coupland put a shot on net allowing Kalan Lind to slide home the rebound.

Ethan Hughes scores for the Warriors at 2:22 of the second period unassisted.
Former Prince Albert Raiders Kryztof Macias got the Warriors within 1 at 11:24 of the second period on the Power Play. The assists on the goal went to Ethan Hughes and Pavel McKenzie.
Shots on goal in the second period were 22-5 for Red Deer.
Ollie Josephson makes it a 4-2 game when he puts one into the empty net with one second left in the game. The assist on the goal went to Kalan Lind.
Shots on goal in the third period were 7-5 for the Rebels. The Rebels outshot the Warriors in the game 40-20.
For the Rebels Peyton Shore made 18 saves on the 20 shots that he faced for the Rebels. For the Warriors Former Vancouver Giant and Nanaimo, BC native Matthew Hutchison made 36 saves on the 40 shots that he faced.

Lakovic is an excellent skater. He’s fluid in open ice and has the ability to gain the edge off the rush and direct pucks on net. He’s dangerous on the power play, working off the flank. Tough to defend below the dots and working off the cycle, Lakovic’s defensive detail and physical pushback is a work in progress. LINK
