The Alberta division playoff race looks like one big club. And The Red Deer Rebels Ain’t In It.

The Red Deer Rebels put up a solid performance at even strength during their Saturday game against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. However, the Rebels’ downfall was on special teams, where Lethbridge capitalized with three power play goals, leading to a 4-0 victory at the Peavey Mart Centrium. This loss snapped Red Deer’s three-game winning streak, whereas Lethbridge continued their impressive run, securing their third straight victory and setting a franchise record with their ninth consecutive road win.

Swiss import Leo Braillard opened up the scoring for the Hurricanes at 16:58 of the Power Play with the assists on the goal going to Hurricanes captain and Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Noah Chadwick and Winnipeg Jets prospect Brayden Yager.Lethbridge opened the scoring when Leo Braillard ripped home his team-leading 11th power play goal – and 21st of the season – at the 16:58 mark to make it 1-0; Noah Chadwick and Brayden Yager earned the assists on the goal.

Attendance at the Peavey Mart Centrium (I wonder what it will be called soon with Peavey Mart closing down) was- 4397.

Rebels next game is Tuesday February 11th in Red Deer against the Regina Pats.

I read a tweet by Rebels play by play guy Troy Gillard about Kalan Lind being 3rd in all time Rebels PP Goals. Lind will probably surpass Uchacz by the end of the season barring injury and even with Red Deers poor offence this season. He will not be here as a 20 year old I am betting he starts the season in Milwaukee. Catching King is sadly a pipe dream. As much as the fans want to see him here as a 20 year old I highly doubt Nashville or himself (as much as he may love Red Deer) wants to see that happen.

Jake Missura, Jace Weir and Jaxon Fuder once again missed the game for Red Deer due to injuries while Parker MacDougall was a scratch
