Regina one of the teams that the Rebels usually beat (along with Moose Jaw) this season. The Red Deer Rebels scored three goals in the first period on route to a 4-1 win over the visiting Regina Pats Tuesday night at the Centrium. The Rebels have won four of their last five games and have beat the Pats twice in the past 11 days.

Beckett Hamilton got the Rebels on the board first at 7:51 of the first period with the assist on the goal going to Jhett Larson.– Beckett Hamilton (11), assisted by Jhett Larson // The Pats coughed the puck up along the right boards in their zone with Larson taking control. He found a wide open Hamilton in the slot and he tucked it past Pyne to make it 1-0 Rebels.

Derek Thurston made it a 2-0 game at 10:47 of the first period while on the Power Play. The assist on the goal went to Ty Coupland and Nishaan Parmar.– Derek Thurston (8), assisted by Ty Coupland & Nishan Parmar (PP) // Thurston got the puck a the mid point and he let a slapshot go that beat a screened Pyne to extend the Rebels lead to 2-0.

Talon Brigley made it a 3-0 Red Deer game at 18:48 of the first period with the assist on the goal going to Brett Calhoon.-Talon Brigley (7), assisted by Brett Calhoon & // The Rebels won a puck battle along the back boards and Calhoon found Brigley cutting to the net and as he was falling to the ice he was able to put a backhand shot past Pyne to extend the lead to 3-0.

Grimshaw, Alberta native and former Calgary Hitmen Keets Fawcett got the Pats on the board at 14:14 of the second period while on the Power Play. The helpers on the goal went to Cohen Klassen and former Everett Silvertip Julien Maze.– Keets Fawcett (8), assisted by Cohen Klassen & Julien Maze (PP) // Klassen picked up a loose puck along the back boards and found Fawcett at the right circle. He had time to shoot and fired it past Wutzke to get the Pats on the board down 3-1.
Shots on goal in the second period were 10-7 for the Rebels
Matthew Gard scored on the empty net at 19:26 while the Rebels were on the Power Play to make it a 4-1 game.– Matthew Gard (11), unassisted (PP-EN) // The Rebels forced a turnover at their line and Gard was sprung on a breakaway and he sealed the game with the empty net goal to make it 4-1.
Shots on goal in the third period were 10-6 for the Pats. The shots were tied at 27 each in the game.
Chase Wutzke made 26 saves on the 27 shots that he faced for the win for the Rebels. For the Pats Kelton Pyne made 23 saves on the 26 he had.
