The Rebels playoff hopes are slim. Even with them winning every game the fact that they are battling the Broncos for that final spot is. It is because the Broncos have a very cake walk schedule down the stretch playing both the Warriors and the Pats two more times. But with the Broncos winning last night it put them just one point away from clinching a playoff spot. So again baring an absolute miracle it is pretty safe to assume the Rebels will not be able to go to the post season and get swept by the Medicine Hat Tigers in the first round. Swift can go do that.

Shots on goal in the scoreless first period were 12-10 for the Broncos

Nishaan Parmar made it 1-0 for Red Deer at 8:02 of the second period when he buried a lose puck at the door step. The assists on the goal went to Jack Bousquet and Jace Weir.Red Deer managed to strike first in the second with Nishaan Parmar’s rebound goal – his first goal with the Rebels – giving his club a 1-0 lead.

Bemidji State commit Brady Birnie tied the game up for the Broncos at 8:21 of the second period. The assists on the goal went to Brandon, Manitoba native Clarke Caswell and Steinbach, Manitoba Luke Mistlebacher.Swift Current responded just 19 seconds as Brady Birnie put a cross-crease pass past Shore for a 1-1 score.

Trae Wilkie gave the Broncos the lead at 12:49 of the second frame to make it a 2-1 Broncos game. The assists on the goal went to Connor Gabriel and Grayson Burzynski.Less than five minutes later, Trae Wilke found a loose puck and scored for a 2-1 Broncos lead that would last into the third period.

Shots on goal in the second period were 17-11 for the Rebels

Beckett Hamilton ties the game up at 2:16 of the third period with the assists on the goal going to Jake Missura and Samuel Drancak.With 2:16 remaining in the third period, a chaotic scramble following an offensive zone face-off led to rookie Beckett Hamilton finding an opening at the top of the circle. Seizing the moment, Hamilton fired a precise shot into the upper corner, tying the game at 2-2. That goal marked his 14th of the season.

Luke Mistelbacher scored the game winning goal for the Broncos at 7:54 of the third period while on the Power Play to give the Broncos the 3-2 lead. The assists on the goal went to Clarke Caswell and Hunter Mayo.Swift Current scored the eventual game winner on a power play just shy of the eight-minute mark as Luke Mistelbacher converted a tape-to-tape pass from Clarke Caswell.

Shots on goal in the third period were 10-6 for the Rebels. The Rebels outshot the Broncos 37-29 in the game.

20 year old Winkler, Manitoba native and 2022 Boston Bruins 6th rounder Reid Dyck made 35 saves on the 37 shots that he faced for the win for the Broncos. For the Rebels Peyton Shore made 26 saves on the 29 shots that he faced.
