The Rebels loss tonight assured the Swift Current Broncos won the sweepstakes to get swept by the Tigers in the first round. The cities are at least close. This will be the first time since 2014 the Rebels have not made the playoffs. Six goals were scored in the first period, split evenly between both teams.
Aiden Oiring scored his 26th goal of the season to make it a 1-0 game for the Raiders at 3:36 of the first period while on the Power Play. The assists on the goal went to former Medicine Hat Tiger Tomas Mrsic and the number 1 overall pick in the 2023 WHL Bantam Draft Daxon Rudolph.–Oiring opened the scoring 3:36 into the game on Prince Albert’s first powerplay of the game, as he buried a rebound after a shot from Tomas Mrsic was stopped by Peyton Shore. Oiring’s goal was his third goal in his last four games, giving the Raiders the early 1-0 lead.

Jaxon Fuder ties the game at 8:59 of the first period with the assists on the goal going to Derek Thurston and Brett Calhoon. –The Rebels stormed back with a fierce reply, netting three consecutive goals to take a commanding 3-1 lead. Jaxon Fuder leveled the score with 11:01 remaining in the first period, deftly weaving around the Raider net before unleashing a blistering shot from the right circle—his 11th of the season—straight past Dimitri Fortin.

Gleb Semenov gives the Rebels the lead at 12:55 of the first period while collecting a rebound while almost sitting in the net. The assist on the goal went to Jaxon Fuder. Semenev now has 6 points in his last 6 games.-Just four minutes later, Fuder played a key role in Red Deer’s second tally of the night. Mirroring his earlier move, he circled the net and fired a shot from nearly the same spot as his first goal. Though this attempt was blocked, the puck popped free, and Gleb Semenov pounced on it, slamming home his second goal of the season to give the home team a 2-1 advantage.

Kalan Lind makes it a 3-1 game at 14:29 of the first period with the assist on the goal going to Gleb Semenev.–Under two minutes later, Red Deer lit the lamp once more, with Kalan Lind notching his 11th goal of the campaign. Charging down the right wing with relentless speed, he blew by a Raider defenseman and barreled toward the net, unleashing a rocket of a shot that beat Fortin cleanly. The Rebels cranked up the intensity in a flash, surging ahead to a 3-1 lead with a two-goal cushion.
Ohio State commit Niall Crocker cuts the Rebels lead to 3-2 when he scores at 15:38 of the first period. The assists on the goal went to St. Louis Blues 2024 4th rounder Tomas Mrsic and Daxon Rudolph.–Prince Albert responded right back, as another powerplay goal brought them back to within one. Near the point, Tomas Mrsic gave a pass to Daxon Rudolph at the blue line, and the rookie took a long range shot that was tipped home unsurprisingly by Niall Crocker. The overager picked up his 26th goal of the season and 16th on the man advantage to make it a 3-2 game.
Aiden Oiring ties the game up with his second goal of the night shorthanded at 17:40 of the first period. Unassisted.–In the closing three minutes of the first period, the Raiders, down a man, seized their chance and notched their first shorthanded goal of the season. Oiring sparked the play by thwarting a shot at the point, then spearheaded a two-on-two break into Red Deer territory. With a slick backhand-to-forehand shift, the center fired a laser top corner past Shore, bagging his second goal of the game.
