In a thrilling clash at the 2025 Memorial Cup, the Medicine Hat Tigers secured a 3-1 victory over the Moncton Wildcats on May 26 at the Colisée Financière Sun Life in Rimouski, Quebec. Ryder Ritchie led the charge for the Tigers, scoring twice and adding an assist, while goaltender Harrison Meneghin stood tall with 21 saves. Despite a valiant effort from Moncton’s Mathis Rousseau, who faced 41 shots, the Wildcats could only muster a single goal from Dyllan Gill early in the third period. Gavin McKenna sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final seconds, propelling the Tigers to a 2-0 record in the tournament and a guaranteed spot in at least the semi-final

The assists on the goal went to Oasiz Wiesblatt and Gavin McKenna.– Ritchie opened the scoring 4:24 into the first as he buried the puck into a wide-open net off of Oasiz Wiesblatt’s feed moments after McKenna had been stopped on a breakaway.

Ryder Ritchie gets his second of the night while on the Power Play to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead at 9:42 of the second period with the assists on the goal going to Andrew Basha and Jonas Woo.– Ritchie’s second of the night came at 9:42 of the second period as he hammered home a one-timer on the power play off of Andrew Basha’s (CGY) feed.

Moncton gets on the board just 31 seconds into the third period when Dyllan Gill banks the puck in off Tanner Molendyk. The assists went to Swedish Import Loke Johansson and Alex Mercier.
Moncton got a too many men penalty with their goalie pulled with 1:22 left in the game.
Gavin McKenna made it 3-1 scoring on the empty net with the assist going to Ryder Ritchie to cap off a 3 point night for him.
Shots on goal in the third period were 11-5 for the Tigers. The Tigers outshot the Wildcats 41-22 in the game.
Harrison Meneghin made 21 saves on the 22 shots that he faced for the win for the Tigers. For the Wildcats Mathis Rousseau made 38 saves on the 40 shots that he faced.
