Assuming the third import spot is saved for Drancak and the hope these 2 new guys make the team. Last years selection played one game before injury and finishing the season out in their native Finland.
With the 19th overall pick in round one, the Rebels selected 6’3 205 pound Czech forward Matej Mikes. The 18-year-old from Karlovy, Czechia played for Roki (Finland U20) and had 10 points in 28 games. He also played for Czechia at the 2025 IIUF U18 World Championship. Mikes was ranked 71st overall among international skaters by NHL Central Scouting ahead of the 2025 NHL Draft but was not picked.
With the 80th overall pick in round two of Wednesday’s draft, the Rebels selected 6’1 181 pound Slovak defenceman Matus Lisy. The 18-year-old from Bratislava, Slovakia played 2024-25 with Nitra (Slovakia U20) and had 28 points in 19 games. Lisy played for Slovakia at the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and 2025 IIUF U18 World Championship. Lisy was ranked 73rd overall among international skaters by NHL Central Scouting prior to the NHL Draft and was not drafted.
The Rebels did not use the 141st overall pick in round three of the 2025 CHL Import Draft.
