The Hitmen beat the Rebels quite easily 6-1 Saturday night in Red Deer. There was no recording of the game for viewing. The BCHL and even the AJHL have video up already for preseason. Just saying.
Former Sherwood Park Crusader and Pittsburgh Penguin 2025 7th rounder Kale Dach opens up the scoring for the Hitmen at 3:34 of the first period. The assists on the goal went to veteran Ethan Moore and 17 year old Delta, BC native Kaden Meyer.–Hitmen opened the scoring when Kale Dach fired a shot past Rebels goaltender Peyton Shore just a few minutes in the opening period.
Alaska native Landon MacSwain gets the Rebels on the board for the first time this preseason on the Power Play at 6:16 of the first period. The helpers on the goal went to Talon Brigley and former Brooks Bandit and Red Deer native Keith McInnis.–Red Deer tied the game about three minutes later by cashing in on a 5-on-3 powerplay. Rebels forward Talon Brigley whipped a cross-crease pass to Landon McSwain, who hammered a shot past sprawling Calgary goaltender Eric Tu. Red Deer native Keith McInnis picked up a secondary assist on the goal.
Shots on goal in the first period were 9-7 for the Hitmen
Russian Import Andrei Molgachev who is committed to the University of Connecticut scored for the Hitmen to make it a 2-1 game at 9:48 of the second period. The goal was unassisted. Molgachev played last season with Little Ceasers 16UAAA guy had over 3 points a game there.
20 year old Super Vet Ethan Moore gave the Hitmen a 3-1 lead when he scored at 12:32 of the second period. The assists on the goal went to 17 year old Medicine Hat native Ty Hynes and former Salmon Arm Silverback Ben MacBeath.
15 year old St. Albert, Alberta native Walker Filewich makes it a 4-1 game for the Hitmen at 15:32 of the second period. The assists on the goal went to University of Denver commit Ben MacBeath and Celina, Texas native Landon Amrhein.
Shots on goal in the second period were 11-6 for the Hitmen
16 year old 5’5 Palmer, Alaska native Logan Brown makes it a 5-1 game for the Hitmen at 3:52 of the third period. The assists on the goal went to Los Angeles, California native Trace Frieden, who spent last season with the Cowichan Capitals of the BCHL.
6’4 Landon Amhrein gets his second goal of the preseason on the Power Play at 18:43 of the third period. The assist on the goal went to Logan Brown.
Shots on goal in the third period were 12-5 for the Hitmen. The Hitmen outshot the Rebels 32-18 in the game.
Surrey, BC native Eric Tu made 17 saves on the 18 shots that he faced for the win for the Hitmen. Peyton Shore 26 saves on the 32 shots that he faced.
