In a thrilling rematch at the Temple Gardens Centre, the Red Deer Rebels pushed the Western Hockey League’s highest-scoring Moose Jaw Warriors shot-for-shot, salvaging a crucial point in a 5-4 shootout loss after a heated 6-4 defeat just 11 days prior. The Rebels’ gritty fourth line shone brightest, with Ty Coupland, Arjun Bawa, and Noah Milford each tallying a goal and assist—including Milford and Keith McInnis scoring in regulation—despite going 0-for-2 on the power play and outshooting the hosts 42-26. For the Warriors, Lynden Lakovic netted a pair of goals, Pavel McKenzie dished two assists, Ethan Semeniuk and Landen McFadden added singles, and Riley Thorpe sealed it in the fourth shootout round, converting 2-of-5 power-play chances while netminder Matthew Hutchison turned aside 38 shots; the win lifts Moose Jaw to 6-5-1-0 as Red Deer slips to 2-8-0-1.

Ty Coupland made it a 1-0 game for the Rebels after a turnover at the blue line with the assist on the goal going to Arjun Bawa. That is Coupland’s 4th goal of the season. Time of the goal was 2:21 of the second framethe Rebels got things going early in the second when Arjun Bawa made a key interception at the Rebels’ blue line, allowing Ty Coupland to scoop up the loose puck in the neutral zone, go in alone and beat Matthew Hutchison with a slick backhand deke to put the Rebels on the board.

Washington Capitals 2025 first rounder Lynden Lakovic ties the game up on a break away for the Warriors at 19:00 of the second period. The assist on the goal went to Pavel McKenzie.

Shots in the second period were 10-5 for the Rebels

Lynden Lakovic gets his second goal of the night and 10th of the season at 1:19 of the third period on the Power Play. The assists on the goal went to Ethan Semeniuk and 16 year old Drayton Valley, Alberta native Colt Carter.Lakovic, the 25th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft by Washington, struck again on the powerplay – this time burying his own rebound to give Moose Jaw a 2-1 lead.

Noah Milford tied the game up for the Rebels when he got his third goal of the season at 1:58 of the third period with the assist on the goal going to Ty Coupland.Only 39 seconds had passed before Noah Milford fired back, his razor-sharp reflexes on full display as he slapped the puck by Hutchison to knot the score yet again.

Ethan Semeniuk made it a 3-2 game for the Warriors at 3:50 of the third period while on the Power Play. The assists on the goal went to Aiden Ziprick and Pavel McKenzie. If I am not mistaken I believe all 3 of those guys were on the Warriors Memorial Cup team 2 season ago.

Keith McInnis then tied the game back up for the Rebels at 6:57 of the third period blasting a wrister from the point. The assists on the goal went to Jaxon Fuder and Matthew Gard.

Edmonton native Landen McFadden gives the Warriors a 4-3 lead at 9:52 of the third period. The assists on the goal went to Brady Ness and Czech import Dominik Pavlik.

Arujun Bawa made it a tie game once again for the Rebels at 15:20 of the third period with the assists on the goal going to Noah Milford and Nate Yellowaga.But in sticking with the theme of the night, Bawa answered the call for the Rebels, scooping up a loose puck in front of the net and snapping it home for the goal with less than five minutes remaining that would send the game to overtime.

Shots on goal in the third period were 21-13 for the Rebels.

Shots on goal in a scoreless overtime were 2-0 for the Rebels. The Rebels outshot the Warriors 42-26 in the game.
