Last Saturday night, January 17, 2026, the BCHL All-Star Game featured a new Canada vs. World format at Thompson Family Arena in Spruce Grove, Alberta, as the main event of the league’s All-Star Weekend. Team Canada, composed of Canadian-born players from the league, dominated with a strong, courageous performance and defeated Team World (made up of international players from the BCHL) by a decisive score of 7-2. Sort of wish I had more video for the highlights or others wrote about it but there is almost no coverage on it.
Okotoks Oiler and Michael Mikan makes it a 1-0 game for team World at 2:49 of the first period with the assists on the goal going to fellow Americans Sherwood Park Crusader Eric Kald and Trail Smoke Eater Christian Kim.

Sherwood Park Crusader Jude Bray ties the game up on the Power Play for Team Canada at 6:50 of the first period. The helpers on the goal went to Alberni Valley Bulldogs Wyatt Davis and Chilliwack Chief Nico Grabas.
Chilliwack Chiefs Russian forward Boris Borin gives Team World the lead at 12:56 of the first period with the assists on the goal going to Americans Spruce Grove Saint Tre Peck and Victoria Grizzly Max Silver.
Canisius College commit Nico Grabas ties the game back up for Team Canada at 14:02 of the first period. The assists on the goal went to Wyatt Davis and Jude Bray.
Team Canada Captain Luke Dahlen gives Canada a 3-2 lead at 16:17 of the first period with the assists on the goal going to Sherwood Park Crusader Joseph Sinclair and Spruce Grove Saint James Richards.
Shots on goal in the first period were 17-15
Langley Rivermen Tanner Winegard scores to make it a 4-2 game for the Bulldogs at 13:28 of the second period while on the Power Play. The assists on the goal went to fellow junior hockey league journeymen Alberni Valley Bulldog Kai Matthew and Nanaimo Clipper Hayden Fechner.
Shots on goal in the second period were 12-8 for team Canada.
Nanaimo Clipper and former Drayton Valley Thunder forward Hayden Fechner makes it a 5-2 game at 6:35 of the third period. Assists on the goal went to former Blackfalds Bulldog Kai Matthew and former Windsor Spitfire Tanner Winegard.
Joseph Sinclair makes it a 6-2 game at 8:49 of the third period with the assists on the goal going to Cowichan Valley Capital Carter Dekay and Luke Dahlen.
Trail Smoke Eater Cash Carter made it a 7-2 game at 19:42 of the third period with the assists on the goal going to Joey Melo and Langley Riverman Zachary Benayon.
Shots on goal in the third period were 11-9 for Team Canada. Canada outshot World 40-32 in the game.
For Canada former Red Deer Rebels netminder and now Cowichan Valley Capital Rhett Stoesser made 18 saves on the 20 shots he faced before being replaced by West Kelowna Warrior Angelo Zol who stopped all 12 shots that he faced in his period and a half. For the world Oliver Kiraly stopped 22 of the 25 shots that he faced in his period and half and Carson Mertz stopped 10 of the 14 shots that he faced in his period and a half.
