The Prince Albert Raiders absolutely crushed the Red Deer Rebels 6-0 in Game 2 on Saturday night at the packed Art Hauser Centre, taking a commanding 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarterfinal. After a scoreless first period where the Rebels hung in there okay, Prince Albert exploded for five unanswered goals in the second, completely flipping the script and never looking back. Brayden Dube buried a pair, while Daxon Rudolph had a goal and two assists to push his series total to five points, with Brock Cripps, Ben Harvey, and Riley Boychuk rounding out the scoring—including three power-play markers for the Raiders.

The offense-starved Rebels looked lost, mustering just 13 shots all game (a pathetic two in that brutal second period) and going 0-for-3 on the man advantage before getting blanked by Michal Orsulak’s shutout. Matthew Kondro stopped 30 of 36 but got yanked early in the third, with Peyton Shore coming in for mop-up duty. Prince Albert outshot them 40-13 overall and just looked like the much deeper, faster team—the kind that actually uses draft picks to stock up on scorers instead of loading up on stay-at-home D. Red Deer’s got a ton of work to do if they’re gonna climb out of this hole when the series shifts back home.
