Getting Shutout at home has to be one of the most embarrassing things in hockey, next to scoring on your own net. Maybe getting shutout at home is worse as it is not only an embarrassment you can share with your teammates but your fans can enjoy it too. Also with the great technology of Flo tv your relatives can watch it all over the world.

Cranbrook got shelled Friday night up in Spruce Grove 5-1

Rhode Island native Patrick Murphy scored for the Bucks at 9:21 of the first period with a one timer from the high slot with the assists on the goal going to Jacob Fletcher and Blake Cotton.

Shots on goal in the first period were 16-6

Patrick Murphy scores a nice goal on his own rebound to make it a 2-0 Bucks game at 3:00 of the second period with the assists on the goal going to captain Bryce Sookro and goalie Miles Roberts

Rasmus Svartstrom scores a beautifully set up Power Play goal at 5:00 of the second period. Thats Svartstroms 10th of the season and that is almost more goals than the whole Bulldogs team has all year. Assists on the goal went to Nelson, BC native Bryce Sookro and Midland, Ontario native Jacob Fletcher.

Shots on goal in the second period were 15-10 for the Bulldogs

Patrick Murphy gets his hat trick goal at 8:09 of the third period on the Power Play to make it a 4-0 game. The assists on the goal went to Jacob Fletcher and Bryce Sookro.

San Diego, California native Max Silver scores to make it 5-0 getting his first BCHL goal at 13:48 of the third period with the assists on the goal going to a couple New Englanders in Grafton, Massachusetts native Shane Baker and Northford, Connecticut native Nick Capasso.

Jacob Fletcher made it a 6-0 game at 14:34 of the third period. Assists on the goal went to Jack O’Brien and Blake Cotton.

Shots in the third period were 7-6 for Cranbrook with Cranbrook outshooting Blackfalds 33-27.

For the Bucks goalie Miles Roberts from Costa Mesa, California stopped all of the very easy 27 shots that he faced for the gift of a free shutout. I am assuming Roberts is not the Bucks starting goalie as all teams have opted to start their back ups or 5th string goalies against the Bulldogs. For the Bulldogs same old story the goalie got no help this time it was Dylan Adams who stopped 27 of the 33 shots that he faced.

Three Stars 1) Patrick Murphy 2) Jacob Fletcher 3) Bryce Sookro

Attendance in Blackfalds was 799

Bulldogs Next game is Friday November 15th against Sherwood Park in Sherwood Park. The Bulldogs next home game is Saturday November 16th against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in Blackfalds.

One can’t help to notice that the offensive output of the Bulldogs D Core is ultra pathetic to say the least (not that any of it hasn’t been up to what it could be from the whole team). The only defencemen that have goals are Souligny and Hope and that is 1 each. If you want to get technical LeDrew had one also, he got traded to Prince George and Ryan Castle had one and he is now playing with the Wellington Dukes of the OJHL. Kind of crazy the void no Willick and Patterson can cause on the blue line.
