The Red Deer Rebels have faced challenges during their recent road trip in the U.S.

On Monday night, they were defeated 6-1 by the Everett Silvertips.

The lone bright spot for Red Deer was their captain, Ollie Josephson, who managed to score a shorthanded goal late in the first period, briefly tying the game at 1-1. However, Everett responded with a dominant performance, scoring five consecutive goals for the win. Among Everett’s scorers was the young star defenceman, 15-year-old Landon DuPont, who scored once, and Carter Bear, who netted two. Over the course of their three-game U.S. tour, the Rebels have been significantly outscored, with a goal differential of 18-5 against them.

Carter Bear scores on the Power Play to make it a 1-0 game for the Silvertips at 8:29 of the first period. Assists on the goal went to their Euro Imports in Finn and Seattle Kraken draft pick Julius Miettinen and Czech Dominik Rymon.

Ollie Josephson scored his 5th goal of the season unassisted while shorthanded to tie the game at one apiece at 18:45 of the first period. One has to think that his future employers are probably in the stands watching that.

Shots on goal in the first period were 12-4 for the Silvertips

Jesse Sanche the Silvertips goalie went down hurt just 15 seconds into the second period. Reports released later by the team stating it was an upper body injury. He was replaced by Alex Garrett.

Winnipeg native Carter Bear scored his second goal of the game and 16th of the season on the Power Play to give the Silvertips the 2-1 lead at 11:04 of the second period. Assists on the goal to Anaheim Ducks 2024 3rd round pick Tarin Smith and Dominik Rymon.

Former Medicine Hat Tigers captain and Red Deer native Tyler MacKenzie scores his 17th goal of the season at 17:40 of the third period to make it a 3-1 Silvertips game. Assists on the goal went to Seattle Kraken 2023 5th rounder Kaden Hammell and Edmonton native Julien Maze. MacKenzie leads the Silvertips with 17 goals so far this season.

Shots on goal in the second period were 10-8 for the Silvertips

Landon Dupont made it a 4-1 game when he rushed in and scored on the backhand on a strange bounce while the Silvertips were on the Power Play. Assists on the goal to Dominik Rymon and Carter Bear at 15:35 of the third period.

Fort St John, BC native and former Prince George Cougar Caden Brown made it a 5-1 game at 16:05 of the third period with the assists on the goal going to Trae Wilkes 16 year old brother Caine Wilke and Kaden Hammell.

Tarin Smith made the game 6-1 for the Silvertips at 17:53 of the third period. The assists on the goal went to Domink Rymon and Julien Maze.

Shots on goal in the third period were 13-11 for the Rebels. The Silvertips outshot the Rebels all game though 33-25

For The Silvertips Kamloops, BC native Jesse Sanche made 3 saves on the 4 shots he faced until leaving with an injury seconds into the second period. He was then replaced by former Calgary Hitmen goalie Alex Garrett who stopped all of the 21 shots he faced for the win for the Silvertips. For the Rebels Chase Wutzke stopped 27 of the 30 shots that he faced.
