The Bulldogs lost their 7th game in a row Wednesday night in Spruce Grove losing 6-4 to the Saints.
Luke Dahlen opened up the scoring for the Bulldogs at 10:02 of the first period with the assist going to Alexander Dimitriadis.
The Saints replied back when Keifer Miller scored at 11:04 of the first with the assist going to former Bonnyville Pontiac Max Seguin.
Luke Dahlen gets his second of the game to make it 2-1 at 17:35 of the first period with the assists on the goal going to Alexander Dimitriadis and Jack McAra.
Then again the Saints replied immediately and tied the game back up when Max Seguin scored his 5th of the season. The assists on the goal went to Keifer Miller and Josh Polak at 17:51 of the first period.
Shots on goal in the first period were 20-9 for the Saints.
The Bulldogs took a bunch of crap penalties that were quite questionable in a row. Thats when Austin Peters scored for the Saints. It was the Saint’s third Power Play in that half of the period. The assists on the goal went to Adam Lang and Ryan Johnstone.
Saints scored again to make it 4-2 there was a bit of a collision but from what I seen it looked like a clean goal. They went to review I don’t know why Alexy Lachine scored his 4th of the season from Austin Peters and James Richards at 12:33 of the second period.
Antoine Gauthier scored for the Bulldogs to get them within one at 17:54 of the second period with the assists going to Tristan Payne and Oscar Bjork. Gauthier has looked good in the last couple games since joining the Bulldogs.
Shots on goal in the second period were 19-12 for the Saints.
Matthew Ronn tied the game up when he walked in from the blue line and let a shot rip from the top of the circles. The assist on the goal went to Antoine Gauthier at 4:19 of the third period.
Saints D man Brody Juck flung a garbage shot from the post that got a lucky bounce when it hit Ethan Kronewitt and went in to give the Saints the 5-4 lead. The other assist on the goal went to Colin Doherty.
There could be a lengthy suspension coming up in the future for a Saints hit from behind if the league sees the review of Chiovetti getting hit from behind. It looked really bad on TV.
Of course the Bulldogs pulled the goalie with a minute left and of course they got scored on. Everyone is still waiting for that work this season. Stephen Kirkpatrick scored into the empty net at 19:19 unassisted.
Shots on goal in the third period were 17-4 for the Bulldogs. In the game the Saints outshot the Bulldogs 43-38.
For the Saints Ryan DeKok made 34 saves on the 38 shots that he faced for the win for the Saints. For the Bulldogs Dylan Adams made 39 stops on the 44 shots that he faced.
Three Stars of the game were 1) Max Seguin 2) Luke Dahlen 3) Keifer Miller. Would like to note that Gauthier and Ronn also played very well for the Bulldogs.
Attendance in Spruce Grove was 548
Bulldogs next game is Friday November 22nd against the Brooks Bandits in Blackfalds. I just noticed that the game sheet for todays game below says it is November 16th when it is the 20th today?
Gates Omicioli signed with the Bulldogs. Found out via BCHL twitter as the Bulldogs never let their fans know anything that is going on with the team. His stats appear good with Danbury of the NAHL. When I heard that last name Omicioli I remembered a player from way back in minor pro named Mike Omicioli. It doesn’t say if they are related on elite prospects. They are from the same region however. I am guessing there is probably some sort of relation. But I dug and found this link Gates is the nephew LINK
Former Bulldog Charles Beland from the looks of it is now playing with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the QMJHL. Beland had 0 points and 10 PIMS in 9 games with the Bulldogs. I did notice he did not dress for the game.
In other notes 2 Former BCHLers got traded for each other down in the USHL Ty Mason went from the Fargo Force to the Waterloo Blackhawks for Ryan Zaremba. Ironically there are 2 other former BCHLers in Waterloo with Sam Huck and Dylan Compton. LINK
