The Kelowna Rockets struck a deal with the Red Deer Rebels, acquiring 19-year-old goaltender Rhett Stoesser. In return, the Rebels received fourth-round selections in the 2025 and 2027 WHL Prospects Drafts. Not surprised it happened as its sort of pointless having 2 amazing goalies on the same team.

Rhett Stoesser, who joined the Rebels as a free agent invite in 2022, has put up solid numbers with the team, boasting a 2.77 goals-against average and an .899 save percentage over 65 games. His record stands at 33-21-2-4, with five shutouts under his belt, making him a notable figure in the Rebels’ goaltending history.

In response to this trade, the Rebels have brought back 16-year-old goaltender Peyton Shore from the Virden Oil Capitals in the MJHL. Shore, who had a brief stint with the Rebels at the start of the current season, has shown promise in Virden, achieving a 2.13 GAA and .920 save percentage in his seven games there.
