MOOSE JAW — Poul Andersen didn’t just finish the Red Deer Rebels’ Saskatchewan road trip. He closed it out with the kind of night that ends arguments.

The Warriors had answers early Saturday at Temple Gardens Centre. Kaden Meyer put Red Deer in front inside the first four minutes, Brady Ness tied it on a toe-drag through traffic, Andersen restored the lead, and Luke Moroz evened it again before the intermission. From there the game belonged to Andersen. His power-play goal at 14:09 of the second stood up as the winner, he completed the hat trick a little more than two minutes later, and he buried an empty-netter late in the third for his fourth of the night. Captain Beckett Hamilton and rookie Paxson Madill each had three assists, and Nathan Salisbury turned aside 36 of 38 shots — including a handful of stops that kept a 2-2 game from slipping the other way. Red Deer went 1-for-2 on the power play; Moose Jaw was 0-for-2 in front of 2,429.

The 5-2 win was the Rebels’ second straight and left them 4-2-0-1, still perched at the top of the Eastern Conference. Andersen’s five-point night moved him to seven goals and 14 points, both league highs. Hamilton, with five goals and 11 points, is right behind him.

Kaden Meyer makes it one nothing at 3:35 of the first period. Marking his first goal as a Red Deer Rebel. The assist on the goal went to Poul Andersen and Beckett Hamilton.–Red Deer stuck to a familiar recent script by jumping out in front early, as defenseman Kaden Meyer scored his first goal in a Rebels uniform to give the club a 1-0 edge. Andersen picked up the helper, stretching his league-leading point streak to seven games.

20 year old Brady Ness who seems to have been with the Warriors since the stone age tied the game up just seconds later at 3:51 of the first period. The assists on the goal went to Saskatoon native William Degagne and Bowlng Green commit Landen McFadden.–That advantage didn’t last long, though. Moose Jaw defenseman Brady Ness answered just 16 seconds later with his first goal of the season.

Poul Anderson scores his 4th goal of the season to make it a 2-1 game at 7:14 of the first period. The assist on the goal was from 16 year old Hermantown, Minnesota native Paxson Madill and Cole Temple.–About three minutes later, Anderson found the net for the second game in a row and put Red Deer back in front by one.

Warriors tie the game back up at 2 at 10:02 of the first period when Grand Coulle, Saskatchewan native Luke Moroz gets his second of the season. The assists on the goal went to Riley Thorpe and Arizona State commit Mathieu Lajoie.–That edge didn’t hold either. Halfway through the opening period, Moose Jaw tied it when Luke Moroz scored his second of the season.

Shots on goal in the first period were 13-11 for the Warriors

Poul Andersen gets his second of the night at 14:09 of the second period while on the Power Play to give the Rebels a 3-2 lead. The assists on the goal went to Beckett Hamilton and Cameron Kuzma.–Five minutes into the middle frame, Red Deer grabbed a lead it wouldn’t give back. Anderson finished a sharp power-play pass from Hamilton, giving him consecutive two-goal games.

Poul Andersen gets a hat trick scoring his third goal of the game and 6th of the season at 16:23 of the second period. The assists on the goal went to Paxson Madill and Beckett Hamilton.–Anderson wasn’t finished. Minutes later he completed his first WHL hat trick with a hard one-timer set up by Paxson Madill — though, as expected in Moose Jaw, no hats hit the ice — and he still had more to come.

Shots on goal in the second period were 15-13 for the Warriors

Poul Andersen gets his 4th goal of the game into the empty net at 18:43 of the third period with the assist on the goal going to Paxson Madill.–With just over minute left to play, Anderson tucked it home into the empty Warriors net to become the first Red Deer Rebel to score four goals in a game since Ty Coupland did it back on March 2, 2025.

Shots on goal in the third period were 10-7 for the Warriors. The Warriors outshot the Rebels 38-31 in the game.

For the Rebels Nathan Salisbury stopped 36 of the 38 shots that he faced for the win. For the Warriors former Medicine Hat Tiger Jordan Switzer stopped 26 of the 30 shots that he faced.

Three Stars of the game were 1) Poul Andersen 2) Paxson Madill 3) Beckett Hamilton
