I was really not expecting this series to be where it is right now. Blades are in a tad of trouble, but never say never.

There was no scoring in the first period of the game. Red Deer held the edge in shots 8-7 through the first 20. Trevor Wong got his 4th of the playoffs to open up the scoring for the Blades at 5:04 of the second period with assists to Brandon Lisowsky and Tanner Molendyk.

Frantisek Formanek makes it a 1-1 game at 9:46 of the first period with the assist on the goal to Christoffer Sedoff. Thats the Czech’s third goal of the post season.

Dwayne Jean Jr makes it a 2-1 game at 16:25 of the second period with assists to Carson Birnie and Hunter Mayo.

Saskatoon had several chances but couldn’t capitalize and they pulled rookie netminder Austin Elliott with just under three-minutes left to put six attackers on the ice for a last ditch effort on a goal and it worked!!! But for the Rebels👍. Kalan Lind scores into the empty net to insure the win at 3-1 and that was unassisted at 19:14. Lind has four points in eight games this playoffs.

Other Notes

Rebels next game is Wednesday April 19th at 7pm. This could be the end for the Blades. Probably still a lot funnier to watch Regina get booted as I sort of like Saskatoon.

Attendance at the Peavey Mart Centre in Red Deer 4654

Rebels outshot the Blades 26-23 Kyle Kelsey got the win for the Rebels while Austin Elliot was in the pipes for the Blades.

Three Stars of tonights game 1) Christoffer Sedoff 2) Dwayne Jean Jr. 3) Craig Armstrong

With their impressive 8-4 victory over the favored Winnipeg Ice on Wednesday, Moose Jaw appears to have the potential to cause an upset in the upcoming conference semifinal. The Warriors currently hold a 2-1 series lead. That proxy team Seattle is probably up in their series too🙄
