Very scary moment when Kalan Lind hit the ice. An injury to forward Kalan Lind just over three minutes into the game. Lind was knocked unconscious on a hit to the head by Justin Lies, who was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct. Lind was transported off the ice on a stretcher and taken to Red Deer Regional Hospital. A Rebels report following the first period stated that he was conscious and aware and undergoing further testing. He was later released from hospital. I didn’t see exactly what happened just him on the ice and he did not look like he was moving at all for a long time. I think it was the head hitting the ice. I thought the game was going to get called. Hoping it is nothing major.
Kai Uchacz opened up the scoring for the Rebels on the powerplay at 6:27 of the first period with assists to Jace Isley and Jayden Grubbe.
Kai Uchacz got his second goal of the game at 13:-5 of the first period to make it a 2-0 contest with and assist again going to Jace Isley. Aidan De La Gorgendiere scored for the Blades on the power play at 12:09 of the second period. Assists on the goal to Trevor Wong and Jake Chiasson. Just like that it stayed going into the second intermission.
Then at 4:12 of the third period Jayden Wiens scored for the Blades with a shot from the high slot with the assist to Vaughn Watterodt. The Blades then took the lead just over 30 seconds later when Brandon Lisowsky made it 3-2 with assists on the goal to Ben Saunderson and Tanner Molendyk at 4:55 of the third period. Then at 8:15 of the third period Brandon Lisowsky made the game 4-2 with assists from Aidan De La Gorgendiere and Trevor Wong.
