Hayden Harsanyi scored a goal as the Medicine Hat Tigers downed the Red Deer Rebels. Dru Krebs, Oasiz Wiesblatt and Shane Smith also scored for Medicine Hat (22-9-2). Tigers goaltender Zach Zahara stopped 32 shots. Mats Lindgren and Jeramiah Roberts had the goals for Red Deer (17-13-3). Rebels netminder Rhett Stoesser made 14 saves.

Forward Cayden Lindstrom and Tomas Mrsic are both listed as day-to-day. Lindstrom with an upper body injury and Mrsic with illness. Neither will be in the lineup tonight at Red Deer.

Dru Krebs opened up the scoring for the Tigers from Gavin McKenna at 12:28 of the opening period.The visiting Tigers would get on the board shortly after their second straight kill as Dru Krebs (Okotoks, AB) would find a loose puck coming down from the point, solving Rebels starter Rhett Stoesser to make it 1-0. Gavin McKenna’s  (Whitehorse, YT) work below the Rebels red-line lead to the Krebs goal, notching the lone assist.

Shots in the first period were 11-5 for the Rebels.

Mats Lindgren put the Rebels on the board from Hunter Mayo and Ollie Josephson on the Power Play at 15:24 of the second frame.In the second frame, Zahara was busy again making 16 saves on 17 Rebels shots and it wouldn’t be till 15:24 on the Rebels 4th consecutive power play as Mats Lindgren would blast the Rebels first goal of the night to tie the game at 1-1.

Rebels outshot the Tigers in the second period 17-6.

Shane Smith scores for the Tigers from Andrew Basha on the Power Play at 3:22 of the third period.Shane Smith (Cessford, AB) cash in with his 18th of the season, just three seconds into the man-advantage at 3:22 from Andrew Basha (Calgary, AB). 

Jeremiah Roberts scores his first WHL goal at 14:13 of the third period. Assists on the goal to Ollie Josephson and Jhett Larson.- The Rebels would push on and eventually counter to tie the game at 2-2 as Jeramiah Roberts would score his first WHL goal at 14:13 to try and swing the momentum back in the Rebels favour. 

Oasiz Wiesblatt makes it a 3-2 game about a minute and a half later at 15:40 of the final period. Assists on the goal to Reid Anderson and Gavin McKenna. Oasiz Wiesblatt would re-direct a Reid Andresen (Saskatoon, SK) point shot to beat Stoesser to regain the lead at 3-2. While Gavin McKenna would notch his second point of the night.

Hayden Harsanyi puts it into the empty net to make it a 4-2 game with 1:41 remaining in the game.But the Tigers would eventually get it done as Hayden Harsanyi (Calgary, AB) would hit the empty net at 18:19 to seal the Rebels fate

Shots on goal in the third period were 8-6 for the Tigers with the Rebels outshooting the Tigers in the game 34-19.

Zach Zahara made 32 saves on the 34 shots that he faced for the win. For the Rebels Rhett Stoesser stopped 14 of the 17 shots that he faced.

Rebels next game is December 29th against the Hurricanes in Lethbridge. Their next home game is January 5th against the Medicine Hat Tigers.
