The Bulldogs played really well in Saturday nights game. They just couldn’t finish on their chances. The two goals the Bandits scored Gabe Gratton had absolutely no chance what so ever on stopping.
Moose Jaw native Liam Fitzpatrick opened up the scoring for the Bandits at 14:27 of the first period to make it a 1-0 Bandits game unassisted. Right after the Bulldogs just finished up a failed 3 on 1 in Brooks end.
Shots on goal in the first period were 9-6 for the Bulldogs.
Edmonton native and former Spruce Grove Saints Ewan MacPherson made it 2-0 Bandits at 12:38 of the second period with the assist going to Liam Fitzpatrick.
Shots on goal in the second period were 10-7 for the Bulldogs
Shots on goal in the third were 12-6 for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs outshot the Bandits 31-19 in the game. This was only the fifth time all season that the Bandits had been outshot.
Johnny Hicks stopped all 31 shots that he faced for the win and the shutout for the Bandits. Gabe Gratton made 17 stops on the 19 shots that he faced for the Bulldogs.
Three Stars of the game were 1) Johnny Hicks 2) Tanner Willick 3) Liam Fitzpatrick
Attendance in Blackfalds was 1138
Bulldogs next game is unknown at the moment. It will be when ever the AJHL stops crying. This is disgusting over reach. AJHL/Hockey Canada should show the players the respect they deserve and let them play. I hope the person or people who made the decision to not allow them to play has their names made public for all to know.
I am assuming one is not suppose to be on the line up sheet. But if not, why on earth does Brooks have 4 goalies listed?
Is this a misprint? What is going on in Calgary? Either way good for them. Says its Alumni night on their twitter.
