The Bulldogs fell 5-2 to the Brooks Bandits Saturday night in Brooks.

Shots in the first period were 12-7 for the Bandits

Nathan Free opened up the scoring on a super screened Esche for the Bandits with his 3rd goal of the season at 4:54 of the second period on the Power Play. The assist went to Ethan Beyer and Nick Peluso

Parker Lalonde made it a 2-0 Bandits game at 18:14 of the second period with the assists going to Fergus Falls, Minnesota native Isaac Johnson and Richlieu, Quebec native Mathieu Taillefer.

Shots on goal in the second period were 15-10 for the Bandits

Parker Lalonde got his second goal of the game and 8th goal of the season on the Power Play to make it a 3-0 Bandits game at 1:05 of the third period. The assists went to Ethan Beyer and Nathan Free.

Joey Melo scored from the blueline when he fired the puck at the net. That got the Bulldogs on the board to make it a 3-1 game. The goal was unassisted at 1:56 of the third period.

Redondo Beach, California native Tyler Chiovetti was gifted a beautiful breakaway by Joey Melo and he went in and deked the pants of Johnny Hicks at 5:49 of the third period to get the Bulldogs within one.

Its goalie pulling time, fairly early too. It has never worked before lets see if it does this time.

Nick Peluso got to pad his stats with a free goal when he put the puck in the empty net at 18:25 of the third period to make it a 4-2 game for the Bandits. It isn’t Christmas yet and the Bulldogs obviously have already lost so they gifted a goal to David Patella at 19:17 of the third period. Quinn McCall got an assist present there too. I hope they send thank you cards.

Shots on goal in the third period were 9-7 for the Bulldogs. The Bandits outshot the Bulldogs 34-26 in the game.

Johnny Hicks made 24 saves on the 26 shots that he faced for the Bandits. For the Bulldogs Waylon Esche made 29 saves on the 32 shots that he faced.

Bulldogs next game is Friday October 11th in Surrey against the Surrey Eagles. The Bulldogs next home game is Friday October 18th against the Sherwood Park Crusaders.
