It only took the Bulldogs under five minutes to open up the scoring New Years Eve in Olds. Layne Loomer set up Jason Siedem for his 14th goal of the season. Olds would end up scoring later in the period but Tyler Wallace finished off the period with a goal for Blackfalds ending it at 2 to 1. Its too bad on Wallace’s goal that Goalie Charlie Zolin didn’t get an assist. He pretty much passed it out, challenged the player, won, he may of been bored in net and wanted to get in on the scoring action too.

Greye Rampton would get the final Olds Grizzlys goal of 2022 to tie it up then it was all Bulldogs. Tanner Willick added a pair of goals to end the second. The Bulldogs would add 2 more goals in the third (one from Brendan Ross and Siedem getting his second of the night) to end the game with a score of 6-2.

The Bulldogs out shot the Grizzlys 45-16.

Jason Seidem had a five point night. Tanner Willick had a three point night, and Tyler Wallace also had a three point night.

I caught the Bulldogs game on HockeyTV tonight. I have watched games on hockey tv quite a bit and I have to say watching the ones in Olds are painful. I don’t think its the crews fault mainly just where the camera is located. Oh and especially in Olds they will forget to move it sometimes. Its announced fairly well on the bright side.

Side Notes

In other AJHL games on New Years Eve Calgary Canucks beat Camrose 5-1 in front of a crowd of 1,657 in Camrose. Camrose who looked great at the start of the season has not won a game since November 22nd when they beat the Bulldogs 4-3 in Camrose. The Bulldogs next home game is January 3rd, 2023 in Blackfalds against the Sherwood Park Crusaders. A really crappy deal with the schedule with only 3 home games in the month of January. With one being on a Tuesday thats great for the gateπŸ™„ I was also informed that around 10 years ago the Olds Grizzlys actually did have a duck dynasty nightπŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰ Also is it just me or does Bulldogs goalie Charlie Zolin look like Bill from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventures?
