It was Super Hero Night Friday in Blackfalds at the Bulldogs game. Although one of the only things super hero like was the game host dressed up as Super Man. The Bulldogs are 3-0 against the Canmore Eagles in all three meetings so far this season.

Former Spokane Chief 20 year old Reed Jacobsen opened up the scoring for the Eagles with 30 seconds left in the first period. Assists on the goal to Tyler Loughman and Brody Tallman.

At 14:18 of the second period David Brandes scored his 6th goal of the season on a turn around shot to tie the game up at 1. Assists on the goal to Kurt Gurkan and Jayden Joly. Kudos to Canmore Ealges defenceman Brody Tallman for completely blocking Eagles goalie Andreai Proctor-Ramirez’s vision. He was better off grabbing a blindfold and tapping it around his face than standing where he decided to stand when Brandes turned around and shot.

Jack Plandowski scored his 7th goal of the season just moments later to make the game 2-1. The assists on that goal were to Tanner Willick and Kasey Hiemstra. That is Plandowski’s second goal in as many games.

Kurt Gurkan scored his 7th goal of the season at 15:45 to make it a 3-1 game. Assists on that goal were to Carter Patterson and Tanner Willick.

Kayden Rawji got lippy out on the ice and seemed to think he was quite tough for the Canmore Eagles. He ultimately chickened out when Hiemstra dropped his gloves and asked him to fight. ( The camera didn’t really pick it up that well or else I would of streamed it as a gif over and over and over again🤪) Not really a point of Rawji fighting him though. Timing was bad and he would of just got killed. I don’t think anyone in the building wanted to wait around while the ambulance took him out of the rink, or the rink rat would of had to clean up all the blood. It would of just ruined alot of peoples nights, especially Rawji’s 🤪. Siedem scored his 19th goal of the season on the empty net (unassisted) to insure the win with 4 seconds remaining.

Other Notes

Attendance was 1155. By far the highest I have witnessed there.

Three Stars were 1) Kurt Gurkan 2) Matthew Hennessey 3) Andreai Proctor-Ramirez

Bulldogs out shot the Eagles 38-27. Eagles goaltender Andreai Proctor-Ramirez played amazing. As well as Gurkan and Hennessey played and were deserving of stars I probably would of put Ramirez first that game.

Bulldogs next game is Saturday at home against the league leading Brooks Bandits. Its the final meeting between the two this regular season. Bulldogs have 2 wins 2 losses and 1 shoot out loss against Brooks this season.
