Dylan Glinski opened up the scoring for the Dragons 1:42 into the game on the Power Play. Notching the ultimate garbage man goal. (goal is a goal though) to make it a 1-0 game. Assists on the goal to Adam Raesler and Ty Whitford. Since taking a stupid penalty worked out so well last time for the Bulldogs they thought they would take another one. Which resulting in more Buffalo chick mooing from the stand when Cyle Clayton scored his second of the playoffs from Raesler and Whitford at 9:43. In the Power Play againπ€ After the first period the Bulldogs had 15 shots on net and the Dragons had a very generous 8 shots listed and the Bulldogs are down 2-0. Stay out of the box.
Tate Yule made it 3-0 just 36 seconds into the second period when he scored a garbage goal also. At this point if I was a player or coach on the Drumheller Dragons I would of called a time out and ran to the store and bought a ton of lottery tickets. There is no way you can get this lucky. Assist on the goal to Ty Whitford. The constant shreeking, mooing, clucking, ect from these Oprah watching women in the stands who claim to be the Dragons girlfriends is getting painful on not only the eyes but the ears also.

The Bulldogs got on the board at 2:46 of the second period when Jason Siedem made it 3-1. Assists on the goal to Layne Loomer and Alexey Trischuk.
Ty Daneault scored for the Dragons at 7:17 of the second period to make it 4-1. Assist on the goal to Tate Yule. This was the first goal the Dragons scored that I didn’t roll my eyes and think it was a fluke it was actually a nice goal. Which is hard to do when you have virtually no shots. That was the end of Matthew Hennessey for a bit. I think Hennessey wanted to get pulled. It was a strange night. Bulldogs goalie Charlie Zolin entered the game at 7:17 of the second period.

Tyler Teasdale made it 4-2 at 13:01 of the second period with the assist to Jayden Joly. Vann Yuhas makes it 5-2 finishing off a 2 on 1 with Ty Daneault. It originally looked like Charlie Zolin stopped it but it found a way to trickle in.

Connor Dick scored his second of the post season at 14:35 from Otto Hanson closing the Dragons lead to 5-3. But at 16:51 of the third period Ty Daneault scored his second of the night and 5th of the post season to make it a 6-3 game with assists going to Vann Yuhas and Adam Raesler. On the Power Play.

Brett Meerman got a penalty to start the third period. Matthew Hennessey returned in between the pipes. The bulldogs killed the penalty off successfully but 2 seconds after the Dragons scored to make it 7-3. Ethan Casper scored from the point on a shot weaker than weak can be π€ͺ. I remember watching Ethan Casper last year when he played with the Thunder. He is a pretty solid player known for defence. Never going to win the scoring race or the lady bing. But what ever I looked at his stats after that goal. In over 120 AJHL games played, regular season and playoffs that is his second goal. So Ethan Casper made it a 7-3 game with the assist to former Bulldog Connor Poffenroth.

Then at 13:02 of the third period Tyler Wallace made it 7-4. Thats Wallace’s 8th goal of the playoffs from Jayden Joly and Jake Geraci at 13:02. Brendan Ross made it 7-5 at 17:42 with Charlie Zolin on the bench and the extra attacker to make it a 7-5 game. Assists on the goal to Jason Siedem and Tanner Willick.
Freeland, Michigan native Dylan Glinski scored his second of the game to make it 8-5 on an empty net to seal the win. Assist on the goal to Ty Whitford. The only thing that could of made the Buffalo chicks in the stands more excited than the goal was if a semi truck of Ben and Jerry’s Ice cream showed up at their door.
Other Notes
Next game is Saturday March 25th in Blackfalds Game #2
Attendance in Blackfalds was 1343
Three stars of the game were 1) Ty Daneault 2) Garrett Fuller and 3) Jayden Joly. Fuller should of got all three stars hands down. Everyone in the building knew the only reason the game wasn’t the other way around was Fuller.
Bulldogs outshot the Dragons 42-26.
Lots in attendance on hand to see the Blackfalds Bulldogs and Drumheller Dragons face off for game 1 of the Southern Division semi finals. Drumheller brought a fan bus. They must of brought a separate horse trailer for the annoying Buffalo chicks sitting in the stands though.
March 15, 2023 Blackfalds player, Kasey Hiemstra, is suspended for two (2) games as a result of a Major Penalty for a Blow to the Head, during a March 15, 2023 game in Calgary. Please note, the original call on the ice was a major for cross checking. The suspension falls under the CJHL Suspension Guidelines for Head Contact.
